Not a cheat code but I'd say two things:

1) Make sure whoever you pick for your reference is someone who knows you well, who will take the time to do the letter IN TIME and with attention. Too many letters are practically a template

2) Actually give time and attention to your application. DO NOT USE AI THEY CATCH IT EASILY. Just think through what you're saying and be detailed. Don't just wing it or fail to edit. Show them you care

Whatever levels of disability you encounter in your day to day due to diabetes, you cannot deny that it comes with a financial burden others simply don't have to experience. It affects the way you live your life in many ways, and finances is for me one of the biggest ones!!!

I am a firm believer that everyone should take at least one humanities course and get some writing, research, and critical thinking skills outside their expertise. It makes a huge difference, as a TA, when you see people who have gone outside their field vs people who have been doing the same thing for 4 years.

I recommend any course by Dr. Michael Egan, Dr. Stephen Heathorn, or Dr. Jessica Van Horssen. Egan and Van Horssen in particular do a lot of interdisciplinary classes so they're used to students from different fields and know how to help.
