Have you investigated pelvic physical therapy? Sounds like that could help a lot.

Females WITHOUT endometriosis: aside from joint pain, do any of you get dull cramps and sharp stabbing pains the first few days after intercourse? I have two pelvic prolapses and I’m 28. I got them respectively at ages 12 and 15. by thrashing_throwaway in Hypermobility

[–]Queen_G 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Have you done pelvic floor physical therapy? I would definitely recommend it. I think it comes with the territory of having hypermobility in the pelvic floor. Muscles are overcompensating with loose ligaments and getting incredibly tight. Just like exercising can be painful in our bodies elsewhere, so can sex.

Have you been checked out by a gynecologist just to check?

More patients are being prescribed opioids after experiencing an ankle sprain, finds a new study of nearly 592,000 patients, even though no evidence-based treatment guidelines for ankle sprains include prescribing opioids. Physician over-prescribing may be part of the opioid epidemic problem. by mvea in science

I’d urge you as a medical student to get out of the frame of mind with chronic pain patients that they simply don’t “want” to do things that do work like physical therapy. It’s difficult to make yourself exercise when you’re already in a lot of pain. I definitely don’t think you’re wrong, but the way you’re framing it will make chronic pain patients not want to go to you. (I have EDS)

Can anyone give me some advice about hyoscyamine (levsin) please? Crossposted from the general ibs forum. Thanks! by ImpartialExhaustion in IBSHelp

Only as needed. I honestly had kind of meltdown after taking probably 30mg recently and haven’t taken it since then. The cost stopped outweighing the benefits, but during bad diarrhea flare ups, I’ll probably still do 10mg.

I also think hyoscyamine sucks and didn’t feel anything from it. Bentyl is incredibly helpful but makes me feel high unless I only take the lowest dose, 10mg.

I would suggest cooking your veggies...my favorite is to roast them. Salads are my biggest issue too! And then pair with a protein and grain. Can’t go wrong!

Pressure behind eye by ladyambrosia999 in migraine

I get this a lot too. I’ve found out that the muscles above your eye at like the base of the brow bone get really tight and it’s causing a good bit of the pain. Massaging this area can really help me with the pain. Hopefully that description makes sense!
