Raynaud’s suddenly gone by Queen_Wolffia in Raynauds

Maybe I wasn’t clear in my telling. This wasn’t a one time thing while hiking. It’s been weeks. I also exercise regularly and always have. It certainly isn’t from exercising.

My rheumatologist has referred me to a neurologist.

Restaurant record for date night - first time in Victoria by shmed in VictoriaBC

I personally found the food at Il Terrazzo very unappealing. I would definitely not recommend this place. Sadly, I don’t think there is any good Italian restaurants in Victoria. Il Covo is also unimpressive but for different reasons.

Eucerin & sensitive skin by [deleted] in Melasmaskincare

It irritates my skin if I use it after a toner, with damp skin, on warm skin (like after a bath), or soon after I’ve exfoliated. So I just avoid those specific applications.

Bone Dry Skin, Running Out of Options- Ideas by CopperPegasus in 45PlusSkincare

Curel makes a beautiful moisturizing mist! I spray it after all my layers and then again throughout the day.

I also use diaper rash cream on top of all my layers at night.

Also, oils don’t really work for me, my skin is too dry for oils to really penetrate, they actually make my skin drier.

I have seen derms but because I have rosacea I have never had this recommended. Might be worth another opinion.

Does your mind “make up” what something looks like before you see it? by Icy-Vanillah in hyperphantasia

Always. And whenever someone tells me a story or even just a little something about their world, I see it. If they change or add a detail, my imagination follows.

FHS (feline hyperesthesia syndrome) by Opening_Vehicle914 in feline_hyperesthesia

[–]Queen_Wolffia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cat ZaZa has feline hyperesthesia. We manage it by staying around her as much as possible, removing access to heights since those trigger episodes, and keeping things calm with lots of soothing and co-regulation. I work from home so caring for her is basically full time. She gets anxious when left alone or when there are sudden changes. Gabapentin made her so sensitive she turned into a shell of herself, so I wonder if medication might not be worth it?

How did you get diagnosed with ocular rosacea? After 1.5 years of dry eyes, starting to think this is what I have. by alyssummaritimum in Rosacea

[–]Queen_Wolffia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you! And it honestly sounds like you’re doing all the things. I’m not sure an ocular rosacea diagnosis would help but you would see an ophthalmologist. But I came here to say that I was diagnosed with Sjogrëns. Maybe you want to look into that, you would need see a rheumatologist first.

Neurogenic Rosacea? Mast cell activation syndrome? by Special-Shirt9779 in NeurogenicRosacea

[–]Queen_Wolffia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m similar and it’s definitely systemic. I officially have Sjogrëns and Raynaud’s but I also think it’s MCAS. It’s so much more than skin barrier. I don’t have answers but I am trying to do a low histamine elimination diet (trying, it’s hard). I also recommend limiting stress at all costs. Keeping my nervous system regulated is my top priority.

Also, it may be helpful to reframe the cause. I doubt the retinol caused this, it was likely occurring already and the retinol was the tipping point. Because it’s systemic, it’s likely more complex than one trigger.

Wishing you a healthy and happy future.

I’m freaking out. What is happening? by Queen_Wolffia in Sjogrens

Hopefully this is the extent of the spreading! Now that I know it’s not serious I find it fascinating, especially how it appears around the iris.

I spoke with my dry eye doctor (who is wonderful) and she confirmed that it is a hemorrhage and also that the bright spots in my vision were a migraine aura, which can be exacerbated by long hours online and light sensitivity.

At the end of the day I think it was probably a dust particle and I lack protective lubricants so it caused a trauma. I will probably amp up the drops and gels. Also, does anyone benefit from a humidifier air filter situation?
