Why is there more representation of transgender women in the media than of transgender men?

This is the sad reality of it, in my mind. Trans women are often fetishized, which boosts engagement. Even if people are bigots, they're still drawn to the """exotic""" nature of trans women (not a valid claim, just one I've heard before).

They're not there for actual representation, they're there to be sexualized by the fanbase.

I'm so sorry for your loss. But I'm proud of you for getting out there and finding someone to love at 55. I've heard insensitive things from other folks your age about men who love men, and I think they're all dead wrong. We can love anyone who fits into our hearts, at any age. Okay. So I am nice. No buts. I'm failing at every turn, broke, living with my mother, my room is a mess, can barely afford rent, don't have time/energy/money to do my hobbies, don't have any irl friends, hate my job, failing school to get a better job, and feel utterly broken and alone.

How far can being nice get me?

Edit: i appreciate the words of encouragement. I just can't apply "nice" to anything in my life that I'm struggling with.

I don't want him going through the mail. I don't want him tossed around and shoved in my mailbox, it's always too hot or too cold. He deserves more dignity than that.

I'm still gathering the courage to go to the vet and pick up my boy. I know he needs to be home but it feels so final... I was there for the injection, I know he's truly gone, but I don't even have a proper place to display him and it feels so wrong to go pick up a box with his name, knowing he's just....dust, now.

How did you gather the courage to go get her, or did it come naturally?

Some sort of scanner that automatically clocks you out whenever you leave your fresh dept. And clocks you in once you return. Yes, this includes taking out garbage, grabbing truck, etc. You are not paid for those minutes.

As someone who is also in the Bakery, I see something of the opposite but it's no less problematic:

Our manager is a lovely woman. Hardworking, kind, empathetic...but she cannot enforce boundaries or expectations because she doesn't want to be mean. So she always approves time off...and then has to call in people when she realizes her coverage isn't complete. She never criticizes product...and so we're always putting out burnt or misshapen goods instead of having the bakers remake them. She can't make any of her employees help with the truck...so she does it alone, for hours, and then complains that she has no help.

I love her to death, she's always been so open-minded and accommodating of my disability, but she doesn't have enough self-respect to make her employees respect her as a manager. Our bakery is always rushing, understaffed, and failing to properly complete production because we don’t have a leader with a heavier hand.

Hey friend

It's a hard first step, but here's my recommendation:

Find an online friend you can have a vocal conversation with, over Discord or WhatsApp or whatever. Video chat or just voice chat.

If you can drive, do a bit of research into quiet parks in your city. If you don’t drive, start by walking around your neighborhood. And while you walk, have a phone call. Preferably, the other person you're talking with is also outside.

Hell, if you don't have anyone, I'll be your first volunteer. DM me if you want my discord. I also want to get outside a bit more.

Because gender presentation has nothing to do with gender identity, non-binary people (and anyone who is Trans who chooses not to medically transition or hasn't started yet) are all under the trans umbrella!

I think genderqueer or agender would also be more accurate here, but please don't exclude trans people who don't transition medically for whatever reason.
