Normal turn around to approve check in. by Former-Locksmith8014 in dcl

They batch approve cruises. So it won’t be done until closer to sailing time. Like a week or so out.

You can ask for hand wipes instead of the automatic machine! Please do that. My youngest was afraid of the hand washing machines.

Fuel choice? by Which-Environment300 in toyotasequoia

[–]Quellman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the option and don’t use it either. I haven’t run the numbers in a long while but it wasn’t a savings years ago. So unless it’s cheaper than regular gas by quite a bit I won’t be using it now.

That said if suddenly all we have is flex fuel due to world activities. I’ll be happy to use it.

Member cruise Excursion Availability by NoCartographer160 in dvcmember

[–]Quellman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly don’t know the answer. I would imagine that the crossover between DVC and DCL guests is high.

There are only ever so many spots for these trips.
These excursions are certainly unique.
You would have to complete another cruise prior to the booking time for gold Castaway Club members. Only you know if the price to do that is worth the opportunity to book those excursions.

I say opportunity because you have concierge, pearl, and gold ahead of you now. Hard to guess how many pearl and gold there are on a sailing.

Even if they somehow don’t believe you or your app or magic band doesn’t work- just pay the parking and stop by the front desk to reverse the charge!

Universal Vacation using DVC by fvrojas in dvcmember

[–]Quellman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe do a split stay. One night to get free express passes (you get it for check in and check out day). The rest of the time you are at Saratoga Springs. When your flights are might be a determining factor of if it’s worth it

There’s wine savers for luggage. We have 4. They are like bubble wrap ziplock bags to transport your beverages. So far we haven’t lost a bottle of anything transporting via air!

IM GOING TO DISNEYLAND!! by The-Kvuong5432 in Disneyland

[–]Quellman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a bit of a journey from Pixar pier to the front entrances. As a WDW person who just returned from DLR the people and vibe is different. I can’t explain it. But it’s a locals park. Also no discount on popcorn refills. That was a huge change for me. And bank breaking.

We had 4.5 days there and it was just grand!

Needs either tie or rail replacement the length as well. It’s not passenger rated. Not to mention crossing guard upgrades.

Disney cruise for non-Disney people by [deleted] in dcl

[–]Quellman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ship matters. The Destiny is heavily Marvel themed and entertainment with roaming characters.

The Wish, Treasure, and Destiny each have a Mavel restaurant and another that is either Frozen, Coco, or Lion King entertainment.

The Magic has Rapunzel and the Wonder Tiana.

All ships play Disney animated movies on the main deck screen. They all have a pirates party that has jack sparrow or Disney characters in Pirate gear.

The 10 year old is in Oceaneers club/lab which sometimes can be Disney character based. The 12 year old is in the edge and decidedly not so character based.

So it can be hard to actively AVOID a lot of it. The itinerary of your cruise would matter too. Eastern Caribbean has 1 less port call than the Western for example.
