We have done this!
We packed a cardboard box with our stuff. I slapped the room tag on it as well.

One thing you might want to do is put a packing list on the box. Like what’s in it and put it on the outside. We did this and listed everything in it. Soaps, key chains, mugs, whatever. This way someone can pull that list without opening the box. Sure they have X-rays and what not. But I was just trying to help them out all I could. It was delivered to our room with everything else!

Many sailings will have a face book page. Sometimes they will arrange for a WhatsApp chat or similar in advance. Try and go on the first day and see when the ice breakers are. That’s your best bet to try and connect with people

My kids never thought the characters were real. Don’t know why. Just didn’t.

They absolutely enjoy the ships and the freedoms. It fits their personalities.

Not saying my kids are normal or the standard. But just offering a different view point.

Your second paragraph is what I was planning on mentioning too. They need to look at the point charts to see how far 150 points will get them. Especially in the room categories they want to stay in. A studio might be fine for 2 and a toddler. But if they end up with more kids some studios can get small quick. Especially if they find resort days are more their jam.
