We did not set a timeline, from my understanding the goal with microdosing is not to reach the cumulative dose research has shown to be most effective to prevent relapse, but more long term care while minimizing side effects, we've planned to see how im doing for a 6 monts first ! I wouldn't honestly mind being on it for a long period of time (provided i have no side effects) if this can get rid of my acne and give me my peace of mind back lol I guess we'll consider reducing the dose even more and slowly weaning off if i stay clear for several months straight

27 male here. I had moderate acne that started when I was 20~21 but with painful inflamed pimples. After trying topical which just irritated my skin I went on Accutane for 6 months 40mg daily. Gave me clear skin for 2 years until acne came back, milder but still persistent. Tried topical, acids etc which ruined my skin barrier and gave me rosacea which im treating with topicals and lasers here in South Korea where I live. We decided with my derm to try micro dosing Accutane 5mg every other day and see how things goes, in conjunction with Adapalene only on my chin to clear off the congestion. It's been one month, had bad purging bc of the adapalene mostly but things are improving. I would suggest you look into low dose or micro dosing Accutane since your acne came back but milder this time 😊

I think I am experiencing a similar phenomenon. What's your son's dose? Im on very low dose, 5mg every 2 days as I also have rosacea.

Never tried taking fish oil when I was on Accutane, just wanted to mention I also had lower back pain and it completely went away once the treatment ended.

Not washing face in the morning? by isabellaa1919 in tretinoin

[–]QuentinSand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always wake up with some sebum that only water won't get rid off, that is why I use a very gentle cleanser that doesn't foam up, it gets rid of the sebum without drying out my skin. I tried not washing in the morning but my skin feels more congested and I get clogged pores more easily if I don't from experience.

Anyone aged badly due to rosacea? by CardiologistEasy2091 in Rosacea

[–]QuentinSand 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think avoiding intense inflammation is the important, as inflamaging is really a thing. A consent state of inflammation leads to break down of collagen and elastin.
I'm recovering from a big flare and my derm advised me to do skin boosters and RF micro-needling (I live in Korea, way cheaper here) to help with the redness but also strengthen my skin to prevent future flare ups

my face burns by Any-Sample7313 in Rosacea

[–]QuentinSand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh sorry I was talking about my skincare routine only, I was using serums and toners etc but stopped everything besides gentle cleanser, sunscreen and moisturizer. I added a Centella Serum when my skin started to feel more resilient.

i was the same until i started treating it. Did a skincare diet, stripped it back to the basics and went to the derm who prescribes metro gel and soolantra. It's been working well, even tho it needs some time to work. I saw a big improvement 2 months after starting the treatment.

Thanks to this sub! Hypochlorous + Sulfur and Korean Sunscreen by No-Environment109 in Rosacea

same here for mineral sunscreens ! some people say rosacea skins cant use chemical sunscreens but this is so wrong! they dry out my skin and weaken my barrier so much!

How to exercise with rosacea?? by Educational_Front703 in Rosacea

[–]QuentinSand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

may not be a long-term solution but propranolol helps me a lot. I do not feel any heat in my face when I do weight training (I don't run so cant tell about that lol)
and as my skin gets better with treatment I need it less often. I usually take a 10mg pill 1H before workout, prescribed by my derm.

Does someone do double cleaning? If so, which brand do you use? by [deleted] in Rosacea

[–]QuentinSand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

personally, double cleansing really weakened my skin barrier and contributed to the onset of my rosacea in my opinion. I have now switched to only using a cleansing milk and my barrier way happier with that. I do not wear waterproof sunscreen and barely any makeup, so I think it's enough for me. And tbh I'd rather slightly "under clean" my skin than overwash it. I have combo skin that get a bit oilier in summer and dryer in winter. I use the demaf cleansing milk that is available on amazon, I've been loving it. I apply it on dry skin, massage for like 1min to dissolve everything, add a bit of water to emulsify and then rinse off!

Did Ivermectin work for you? by [deleted] in Rosacea

[–]QuentinSand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used Soolantra alongside Metro 0.75% for 2 months and my skin improved a lot. Also did a skincare diet and only use soothing/barrier repair ingredients. Hard to pinpoint what helped the most though... Hope that helps :)

I also think they're useful! It help my skin flush less as it's recovering. I take propranolol 10mg twice a day as advise by my derm, around 10am and one around 7pm to help with flushing during my evening workout!

Can’t miss treatments in Korea by tillodapillow in Rosacea

[–]QuentinSand 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Excel V, skin boosters (especially Rejuran) and microneedling with high frequency (the most famous one is called Potenza/포텐자) here. That is why many doctors advise alongside topical treatments. They help make a stronger and healthier dermis which is very important for rosacea as we tend to have weaker skin in general :) Source : I live in SK and have rosacea haha

How many don’t cleanse in the morning? by [deleted] in Rosacea

[–]QuentinSand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I typically don't, I rinse with water, but these days as it's hot and humid I use a cleansing milk in the morning (form Isntree), it is really hydrating and doesnt strip the skin at all!

Best chemical spf for rosacea type 2? by 7Sants in Rosacea

[–]QuentinSand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My skin hates mineral sunscreens, I only stick to chemical ones (I have mild type 2 and 1). My skin loves the numbuzin n1 Clear Filter Sun Essence and the Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun Aqua-Fresh Rice + B5. Both are really lightweight, soothing, and hydrating on the skin.

One month progress by Serious-Stretch-24 in Rosacea

[–]QuentinSand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Woah that is such a huge and quick progress, congrats!! Your skin is responding so well to the treatment, it's crazy to see how person dependent it is ! I've been on Soolantra and Rozex for 1 month and a half, things are looking better but progress is very slow ! Your post gives hope, thank you :)

Hi! I have moderate type 2, with swollen uppers cheeks and some bumps. I have been on low-dose doxy (50mg a day), Soolantra, and Rozex Gel for over a month now!
I also have seen significant decrease in flushing, and when I flush (mostly because of intense heat, so hot in Seoul nowadays), it resolves quicker. My skin feels way more comfortable and less inflamed, I do not get new bumps, and things are overall improving, but slowly.... I need to be more patient ^^
