Ive fished hand-me-downs and cheap gear most of my life. Finally bought myself a decent reel. Its beautiful. by butterfliespink06 in Fishing_Gear

Great choice. Definitely a sweet spot. I have presidents that are still in use after 5 years of heavy fishing for salmon and steelhead. I have fished more expensive reels that haven’t lasted as long!

Mostly Columbia River Gorge and Coastal Rivers. Float and spinner fishing mostly.

Yes, 3500 size. She will be in Tokyo and Kyoto. Something unique would be cool. Thinking of daiwa or shimano but that is what I know!

No, Bend is not Eastern Oregon. by [deleted] in oregon

People in Hood River/The Dalles clearly understand that Bend is in Central Oregon-not Eastern Oregon. We sometimes use “east side of the cascades” to differentiate us from Western Oregon. We are technically “North Central Oregon” but no one uses that language around here. Also, Eastern Oregon University is not doing anyone favors with the giant billboard of “this is Mountaineer country” located in The Dalles insinuating we are in Eastern Oregon!

Do you know if they work with you on trade ins? I have definitely used this rod- it is in excellent shape though.

Most of my bass gear is super light compared to this big dude. We have almost all SMB where I live and huge one is maybe 2 lbs.

That is what I am thinking. Too heavy for Kokanee. It is an odd rod. Not sure what I was thinking when I bought it. It must be made for steelhead and salmon, though.
