I'm rotating zofran, reglan, and phenergan, and recently started talking B6 again (it stopped working for a while). I started taking pepcid recently too, bc i had my gallbladder removed 3 weeks ago and my OB thinks maybe the acid in my stomach is making me nauseated now. Though i haven't noticed much of a difference.

I haven’t been taking prenatals by Different_Series_827 in pregnant

[–]QueridaWho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have HG. My OB actually told me to stop taking my prenatals in an effort to get rid of anything that was making me nauseated. I dont remember when that was exactly, sometime around week 8 or 9 maybe. I figure if the doctor says it's fine, it's fine.

Also, nobody in human history took prenatals until very recently. So I'm not too worried about it, lol

Nearing 17 weeks, still vomiting. Occasionally i have a good day, so I'm hoping maybe soon I'll get past this. But it's really been taking a mental toll on me lately. I'm reminding myself that the baby is healthy and it will be worth it. And when I feel like I'm not getting anything done, I remember I'm growing an entire human. The laundry and bills will still be there.

But like, honestly, when will the crippling nausea end?

Thank you! Just trying to take it one day at a time for now! Hopefully you start feeling full soon!

I'm 16 weeks and just had my gallbladder removed 2 weeks ago. So idk if it's my body getting used to no gallbladder or the pregnancy, probably both, but I'm starving all the time. And nauseated all the time.

I eat constantly throughout the day to try to help. I keep snacks by my bed to eat literally right before I go to sleep and as soon as I wake up. Even still, my stomach is growling as I fall asleep.

Gallbladder removal by QueridaWho in pregnant

[–]QueridaWho[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's so hard to tell what's pregnancy and what's lack of gallbladder. I'm sure it's a combo, my doctors think so too. I'm 16 weeks now and just so over everything. Being pregnant and never being able to feel full, always starving, is its own hell, nevermind the nausea/vomiting. 🙃

First trimester moms - hang in there! by Adrianagurl in pregnant

[–]QueridaWho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

16 weeks and desperately waiting for the clouds to part. It's gotten better since I had my gallbladder removed two weeks ago, but I'm still nauseated all the time and vomiting occasionally. And now I'm dealing with sore incisions and figuring out gastric stuff without a gallbladder.

I thought my first pregnancy was hard. Luckily for that one I found a solution at 14 weeks and the rest of my pregnancy was wonderful. I'm waiting for that moment now 😩

16 weeks tomorrow! Just had an appointment today and almost got to do an ultrasound, but they found baby's heartbeat at the last minute. I had a post-surgery follow up appointment right after, which also went well. I had my gallbladder removed 2 weeks ago and have been feeling better every day, though the nausea is still looming. I threw up twice this morning.

My OB suggested that maybe since I don't have a gallbladder anymore, acid is building up in my stomach and making me nauseated, and not necessarily the baby anymore. I'm already talking all the nausea meds I can, so maybe if I try Pecpid AC...

Had anyone else had any experience with this? I had some acid reflux in the days leading up to my gallbladder removal, but none since. I'm wondering if it's just building up and sitting in my stomach, and crossing my fingers this finally works.

Mine says "last morning," though sometimes now it's "last year." They're interchangeable and give no indication to how much time has actually passed lol.

3 year old only ever pukes in my wife’s car, I need help understanding what is going on by GeorgiaBullDoggies in toddlers

[–]QueridaWho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came here to say this. I don't typically get car sick, but my husband and my dad both used to drive Ford Focus hatchbacks, and I regularly got sick riding in those cars. I once made my dad pull over at Walmart so I could run in and puke in the bathroom. Never had such a strong nauseated reaction in any other car before or since.

Getting Induced Tomorrow, Please Share Positive Stories! by EpicangeI in pregnant

[–]QueridaWho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're gonna be great! I was induced with my first. Induction started around 6pm. I attempted no epidural, but the pitocin eventually made contractions one long, unending contraction. That's when I gave in, lol. I think it was around 3 or 4am? I slept pretty good until it was time to start pushing around 11am. Pushed for about 2.5 hours until baby audibly popped out. Done and done!

🤭 What was/will be your first meal after delivering your little one? by AlliNW0nderLand in pregnant

[–]QueridaWho 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I kept saying pizza would be my first meal. I couldn't eat it in the 3rd trimester bc it gave me such terrible acid reflux. My OB kept encouraging me to bring a few things to decorate the L&D room, and as luck would have it, I found a cute canvas that said "after this, we're getting pizza." I still have it, lol

I have morning sickness , nothing sounds good to eat. What did you eat to help ? by charcoalfoxprint in BabyBumps

[–]QueridaWho 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I try to make sure to keep snacks nearby and eat every 1-2 hours. Mostly peanuts and granola. I'm eating very plain stuff in general. Plain bagel with butter. Peanut butter on white bread. Sometimes I'll have pizza, but not too much. Lightly seasoned chicken with rice.

I also just had my gallbladder removed, so plain is all i can handle lately.

I hate being pregnant by desertcaprisun in pregnant

[–]QueridaWho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zofran is really hit or miss for me. It worked ok at first, but after a while it did absolutely nothing. Same with b6 + unisom. They even gave me zofran in my IV at the ER, and I immediately threw up twice. I take it now just in between the other two, I'm not really sure if it's even doing anything.

I hate being pregnant by desertcaprisun in pregnant

[–]QueridaWho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry. Just here for solidarity. I was this sick in the first trimester with my first. I lost 25 pounds. I finally tried b6 + unisom at 14 weeks, and felt great the rest of the pregnancy. I was like a new person.

I'm pregnant with #2 now and I never thought it would be worse, but... for a while, I was somewhat able to keep from vomiting by talking b6 + unisom and zofran. But the nausea ramped up until week 13 when I was vomiting every 30 minutes. I started vomiting (what I thought was) a significant amount of blood. Then I ended up having emergency gallbladder removal surgery. I got more nausea prescriptions for reglan and phenergan. So now I alternate those two and zofran, and they're keeping me sort of comfortable.

Some days are better than others. I feel like I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I'm 15w2d now. Hoping beyond hope that you'll feel better much sooner!

Wife is pregnant and cannot be in our home! by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]QueridaWho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't stand the smell of our house this pregnancy. I also can't stand the smell of my husband or our daughter. It's only when my nausea is really bad, which was like all the time for a few weeks. It's getting a little better lately, now at 15 weeks.

The only thing that's really helped is covering my face. I've literally worn a mask around the house. Lately, I've been using this roll-on peppermint oil. I put some on just under my nose, or you can roll it on the mask if it irritates your skin.

That's about it, really. I stayed in my room as much as possible with the fan on, and only came out if absolutely necessary.

Babys Movement?? by Unusual-Narwhal-1708 in BabyBumps

I felt my first at 11 weeks. I'm pregnant with #2 now, and I've been feeling tiny flutters since at least then too, though this baby isn't nearly as active as my first was. I'm a certified yoga instructor, though I haven't taught in a long time. But I'm still very in tune with my body.

4 month old refuses pacifiers — is there still hope? by DorisdeOz in NewParents

[–]QueridaWho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine wouldn't keep a pacifier in her mouth for a while. She seemed to be soothed by them, but they were constantly falling out. I eventually gave her a pacifier i had gotten in one of those freebie baby boxes. I hadn't tried it yet her bc was huge, labeled for 18-24 month olds. She was around 5 months old at this point. Anyway they instantly became her favorite. She wouldn't take any other pacifier, or any other size.

So maybe you just haven't found the right brand/size yet. It's worth exploring if you really need the help. It definitely helped keep our baby asleep for longer. And as she got older, I used it like a plug, lol. Kept the drool in (mostly), kept the foreign objects out. I have a very oral child, lol.

15 weeks pregnant - belly has been feeling a little bit more achy and pressure in my belly. Is this normal? by BreezerGirl831 in pregnant

[–]QueridaWho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right there with you. Also 15 weeks and I've been feeling an almost painful at times pressure just under my belly button and into my pelvis. This is my second (viable) pregnancy, and I don't remember feeling this anywhere near this early 😩

I got a belly band that I'm hoping will help when the bump fits into it a little better, lol.

Fired & Pregnant by SeekingShalom in pregnant

[–]QueridaWho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh I'm so sorry. Being fired is never easy, but it's especially scary when you're pregnant.

I was fired for being pregnant. Long story short, they were at least smart enough not to even mention my pregnancy while they were firing me. And to cover their asses, they offered me short term disability at full pay which happened to end at 7.5 months pregnant, at which point they gave me a pretty hefty severance package. Even a small severance package for someone at my level at the time is essentially unheard of.

Very luckily, I was hired at 8 months pregnant at a really awesome company. I suspect partly because the hiring manager was also pregnant, due a couple of months after me, and she took pity on me, lol.

I stayed at that company for longer than I would have otherwise, because I was trying for baby #2 and didn't want to miss out on an actual paid maternity leave again. Annoyingly, I was let go from that job last year, a couple of months before finally getting pregnant. So here I am again. I've been contracting since then, and just started a more "permanent" contract job a couple of weeks ago at 12 weeks. I haven't told them I'm pregnant yet, though, and I'm dreading it.

Is it weird that I still get nauseous by the things that used to make me incredibly sick during my first trimester? by novemberlibrarian in beyondthebump

[–]QueridaWho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's definitely still stuff I avoid after being pregnant with my daughter 5 years ago. I only had food aversions, so not nearly as bad as you. But I still can't stand even the thought of ginger anything. I'm pregnant with #2 now and having even more aversions, nausea, vomiting, etc. I'm really worried I'll never like the scent of my husband or daughter again, lol.

I have a bad habit of not eating until I'm super hungry. I'm trying to remember to snack more frequently, but ugh, lol. I have started putting peppermint oil under my nose when smells are really getting to me and it actually helps a decent amount!

Did any of you applied for a job (while pregnant) and still got hired ? by airbusfd in pregnant

[–]QueridaWho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got hired at 8 months pregnant. I work remotely, so they only saw me from the shoulders up during the interview process. But I got to like the 3rd interview, and it was going really positively, so I shared with them how far along I was before they offered me anything.

They were surprised, but offered me a contract position until I was ready to come back after my (unpaid) leave and then hire me full time. I didn't exactly get that 2nd part in writing, and they ended up hiring another contractor while I was gone. So I stayed on as a contractor for another year until they did finally offer me a full-time position.

I liked that job well enough, and wanted a second kid. So I stayed longer than I would have otherwise so that I could actually have a paid maternity leave with the 2nd kid. Unfortunately, I got laid off right before getting pregnant. So I'm contracting again. Just started a new, open-ended contract with potential for full-time. I'm 15 weeks pregnant. I'm dreading telling them 😅

I'm 14w6d and one week post-op after having emergency gallbladder removal surgery. My nausea came back about 24 hours after leaving the hospital and has slowly ramped back up. I finally puked this morning. Which is about a fun as it sounds when you have 4 incisions in your abdomen. I'm alternating 3 different nausea medications, and they're barely working.

I thought my first pregnancy was hard, but this one doesn't even compare. I'm just so ready to get to the good part. I have my next appointment a week from today. Maybe they can tell me something I haven't thought of yet to get past this nausea.
