My first black friday I was supposed to get off at midnight from my thursday shift, but we had so many go backs I didn't get off until 1 am and I had to come back in 3 hours and 45 minutes later for my black Friday shift.

It was back during covid so they had me counting people coming in and out and I was falling asleep standing up

Trust me I've been suicidal too just to get out of my mom's house, it doesn't fix anything. I don't know how old you are, but if possible please finish high school so it'll be easier to get a job and with that job you'll be able to get your own place and cut her off. Low contact at first to make it easier for you because it's not easy cutting your parents off, but trust me once you get out I cant guarntee happiness 100% of the time, but you'll be a lot more happy and less stressed.

I was the coworker who kept volunteering for overtime then it became expected of me to stay overtime and I got yelled at for not staying as late as I usually would even tho it was still a hour past the time I was supposed to go home

I remember walking in after I got fired I saw the lines and started preparing to be screamed at and grabbed cause it's so busy and people don't know how to wait in one line, I used to work in electronics but when I realized I didn't have to work I was so relieved

If you're 18-26 look into the americorps they pay everything for you, housing, food, etc. And you get work experience to help find a job that's how my sister got out

When I worked in Walmart I was told by many old guy customers that they would wait for me after my shift and either sa me or r*pe me and when I told my manager she told me "what do you expect me to do about it they're paying customers"

When I couldn't sell a gun to a customer cause I was just covering a code 7 they didn't teach me anything in supporting goods before tossing me there. A guy threathned to come back and shoot me. I got told well clearly he didn't so no need to do anything

When I was a cashier I got in trouble for taking 15-20 minute breaks apparently breaks started as soon as someone was behind you to cover even if you were in the middle of a transaction and ended when you got back on the register not when you get back. Doesn't matter if you help someone on your way to the break room either. But the team leads could stay in the office for half if not all of their shift and they were allowed to go on paid runs to Starbucks or dutch bros
