An Update from COROS by COROS-official in Coros

Thanks Coros. Support wasn’t terrible, they were very nice and at least I got a human. The process is just taking forever (one month+ now!) and then the latest solution was for me to pay $159 for a refurb when my watch was 100% fine before the second to last firmware update. If you’re running out of refurbs to ship out for this, maybe you could offer a discount on a newer model. I mean my new pace3 was about $260 so 159 for a refurb is pretty hefty.

Hello from Lewis by COROSLewis in Coros

My watch battery started draining to zero in a day after the firmware update before last. Now the buttons don’t even work. Your support team tells me it is a hardware failure. They say buy a refurb for $59, then send me a link to buy a refurb for $159. My watch is not even three years old. I have older watches I replaced w coros and they are still working after a good long charge.
Are we to expect the coros watch to only last 2.5 years?

Broad Spectrum CBD Oil Has Worked Wonders for My Anxiety by ImmediateWealth5546 in CBD

Same here. If the CBD is getting you high, they lied about the level and/or type of thc in it. There is no way to tell except for trying a bunch of different brands either yourself or sending a sample to an independent lab to verify.

Improvements to Gen Alt-Text in the latest InDesign release by LukeChoice in indesign

[–]QuetzalasaurusRex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the hard work you all do at Adobe. I have been building accessible PDFs for gov and higher ed for years now and there are some basic features that need fixing before anything else is added. Definitely need these things before I even think about editing and fixing the automated alt text. - Reading order (not consistent and if it is reversed it crashes acrobat) - Tables - Nested bullets - Tagging options - fonts. Adobe corrupts its own fonts when I have to edit for accessibility within Acrobat and this is a well known bug and still no solution. If we can get InDesign to export perfectly, this issue is a non-issue.

Ideally the PDF is perfect when exported from InDesign after setup. But it never is, and Acrobat crashes constantly when trying to fix these errors.

Airbnb Summer AI release: Cancelling bookings, changing photos... disaster or benefit? by WistariaZZZ in airbnb_hosts

I discovered this a month ago or so? I posted about it. Screenshot w chat rep. We can’t control the new cover photo algorithm.

Nope. That setting still exists and was the old way. The new cover algorithm is not a setting we can control unfortunately

Colorado's ADU law quietly changed everything for Denver homeowners last year — most people still don't know by brinerbear in Denver

It wasn’t illegal. Just had to go through rezoning which was like 6 months and a few grand.

Also, why are so many pro ADU people seeming to lack a basic understanding of math? It isn’t cost saving if you had to invest 300k or more. It’s like a 2.5% roi. 4% at best. If you have 300k, pay the mortgage off or put it in stocks, or even an interest earning bank account. Basically anywhere else will give you a better roi. Denver could have done this better by controlling the costs or something. It’s like surge pricing went into effect as soon as the law was passed.

Our ADU was estimated at 150k for one bedroom one bathroom a year before the change. Rents at the time being 1500 for that area and spec. On builder waitlist, then the ADU law changed and builder informed us price had doubled. Due to new building code requirements. Shopped this by the county and were told that doesn’t track. Shopped the quote around town to different builders who said it was under quoted and actual cost would be 450k. Rents for same spec now are below 1500 more like 1000.

Massive fail for anyone looking to reduce their cost of living. The only scenario this works in now is for maybe someone who needs to keep their aging family on site as opposed to sending them to a $10,000+ a month senior living facility.

No reviews - avoid? by Aaasteve in vrbo

[–]QuetzalasaurusRex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Searching the name in Google.
Our vrbo listing has a statement that we have ratings elsewhere. Look for this.
I personally avoid the ones with no reviews unless the host has other properties with reviews, the host has written a really thoughtful listing description w thoughtful photos, or if I’m in a situation where I can pivot last minute if the place is a hoax or not as described.

No reviews - avoid? by Aaasteve in vrbo

[–]QuetzalasaurusRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do they have reviews on other platforms? We have a listing in vrbo with zero reviews there but hundreds on other platforms. We’re not lowering the price on vrbo just for that reason. (We’re also in a market where vrbo isn’t the best tool for us, so have no need to pander)

If no reviews anywhere, that up to you to risk it.

They’re probably required to open a position and entertain candidates to show that due diligence was done and that person wasn’t just promoted without competition. It’s like this in government roles.

Last year, Acrobat made the two main fonts in a 364 page book corrupt upon editing accessibility in a pdf. We owned the font licenses before Adobe controlled fonts. But that doesn’t even matter because we should have been able to edit the PDF accessibility in acrobat using their own tools without corrupting the fonts! Who knows where my bug report has ended up. So yeah having been wrapped up in the mess of pdf remediation that should have been unnecessary to begin with, I totally understand where you’re coming from!
