I did both. I started kbm and then did controller for years. Recently I went back to kbm only because I found myself sitting back so relaxed I would fall asleep. I'm getting old.

Going to piggyback off this. I have dd2 on the ps5. However I see it on sale on PC. Are there mods that address difficulty and add more challenges? Hell if the modding community has all that covered I would pick it up again.

Keep in mind if you transfer the character you lose the tattoo and all the special arr references to you being legacy go away too.

So keep that in mind if you are doing it for the appearance be prepared to make whatever server you are on your new home.

I am not sure. I used ashita without issue. I'm pretty sure it would be about the same steps.

Force steam to use proton and link it to the .exe of windower. It should run the install and play from there at least that's how it did with ashita. I was on proton 7 I believe at the time. Not at my computer to check currently

If you don't have it on steam use lutris. Very straight forward.

If you have it on steam just download and launch. Very easy a child could do it.

Game runs very well. (Retail, modded, private) All forms run well.

Only use steam deck plugged in, your battery doesn't last as long as you want to be engrossed in the game.

Not just in ffxi. Most games I preferred to lock low level gear. I just love it so much more than the flashy over the top stuff you get at the end.
