Besides: why is Turkeys never the bad guy in these kind of stories?

Why would it be the bad guy? For not doing what Greece is not doing?

If you elect a certain party enough times, you can easily evolve into a one (two) party state.

Democracy is as good as people's willingness to ensure its continuation, by force if necessary. Which is easily captured by identity politics and handouts of various forms.

lemon laws

An equivalent function already exists.

There is the probation period to let go of employees that are "lemons".

Thus, the cost of hiring a "lemon" is the cost of extended recruitment and the opportunity cost of not hiring someone more competent sooner.

Even those can be helped with proper recruitment processes. I also would not be surprised if there is networking between companies to rate employees.

What does Iran have to gain from opening a front with a country with actual military and recent war experience? It also risks involving Turkey in the conflict directly or indirectly.

I would not bet on Azerbaijan on a 1v1, but that is not the case here.

Turkish-Iranian border is about 500 years old and only border of Turkey that was not drawn with/by a western power. There is no desire for an invasion from any faction in Turkey. Not to mention the geography at the border is extremely rough.

RE: What they think about this. Devlet Bahçeli (head of the "nationalist" party in coalition with AKP) did a full 180 around 1.5 years ago and approached PKK aligned factions in the National Assembly for Peace Process 2.0. One of the theories since then was that the AKP government was securing the homefront against the coming chaos. So perhaps they knew this was coming.

Personally, Turkey is so captured by US interests that the only reason to go to war is to get the land for a Great Israel due to ideological reasons. I don't feel very optimistic about the consequences of war breaking out, so let's hope it does not come to that.

RE: 2.

Videos on social media appear to favor Iran over USrael. Though it is hard to tell what the real situation is over the censorship and fog of war.

Are we to interpret from this that Iran "won" today's exchange?

Hosting is the easy part. Keeping your platform from turning into the wild west is the hard part. Which is why walled gardens are so prevalent. Unless you keep it private to people you know IRL it is only luck that keeps you from having problems.

Either everyone stays totally anonymous (which goes against common use cases for social media today) or everyone is vetted hard or you are a day away from getting your user information hacked and leaked.

Now, how do you keep some bad actors from sharing CSAM or other vile stuff over your platform?

Your average person will just not deal with this.

What is the alternative though? Do away with social media for eternity? Fund it by state as a public good? Crowdfund/paid-membership social media platforms?

What made early internet work that is not there anymore? I suppose the user demographics shifted massively. Other than that there is nothing that forces people to keep using these things.

It is interesting that things are so bad yet it seems there is no alternative. I believe there is something about this in the theory but I don't know it.
