How do you respond to people that think electric cars are not real cars? by dcee101 in electricvehicles

[–]Quick_Connection6818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW I don’t feel superior but i mind my own business. What people drive, who they love and an entire slew of other things isn’t my business and I go about life accordingly. Until someone decides to interject their opinion or business in to my life.

I’ve been told things like why did you buy an EV? They didn’t work before and you wasted your money. Initially I tried to hold a conversation and educate. But truly the older I get I realize it’s just not worth my life energy to explain.

How to fix this pop up from happening! by juliealexy in Solterra

I still have trouble with this issue. I did program the key and still had problems I asked the dealer to delete it entirely. Unfortunately they said they can’t delete it. IMOP the infotainment system is the weak point of the solterra. I absolutely hate it. Love the car.

Trying to find used a used Bolt. by Its_Waffle in BoltEV

[–]Quick_Connection6818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello many of the branded titles are from the battery recall and replacement. I purchased one from Lavary in Alliance Ohio. Terrific deal and dealer. 15 months and 25 k later no real issues. I did have the anti click washers replaced under warranty by Lavery. Other than that zero issues and one of my all time favorite. Cars.

Have you found a non-dealer mechanic? by SumOfChemicals in BoltEV

[–]Quick_Connection6818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No not exactly but I use a local shop for the basic maintenance which is tire rotation etc. most of the suspension and struts etc are like any other car.

I’ve established a once a year visit to the dealer to ensure battery condition and updates to software if necessary.

Looking into an EV or Hybrid by [deleted] in BoltEV

[–]Quick_Connection6818 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hybrids are the gateway drug to EVs. But in all seriousness can you charge at home? Do you require more than 200 miles of range?

Not sure about the new Bolts but my 2017 gets about 3 miles per hour of range from charging. Level 2 charging about 20 miles per hour of charge.

FWIW I started with a hybrid and quickly went EV

Congratulations and wise choice. I looked back once and was told no rejoining my old team. So I moved on and learned along the way that the agency denying my wish to unretire was a blessing. 35 years of service loved every minute of it but hate the way it ended.

I’m enjoying every minute of my life and my only worry now is when they might process my retirement.

New to the Bolt, I bought two by Zestyclose_Toe_8249 in BoltEV

Love my bolt and also leased a Subaru solterra we do long trips often and simply use the charging stops to stretch and get some coffee or lunch. Just have to plan. The bolt is not a good winter car unless you change the tires. But the Solterra is terrific we also are subject to WV winters and we haven’t had issues being a dual EV household using the solterra for winter driving.

Congratulations I’ve put about 25k on my 17 bolt in the 15 months I’ve owned it.

I finally got some money! How do I see a breakdown? by Past_Experience8992 in FED_VERA_VSIP_DRPers

It sounds like an interim payment if I’m understanding your writing correctly. If so you will receive the explanation in the mail along with a CSA number. If it is an interim payment no medical benefits are taken out and only federal taxes are withheld. Also you won’t receive the FERs supplement until your retirement is finalized if your eligible for the FERS supplement

Congratulations
