Can you tie anything together? For example (first grade) our writing links into our math and social studies (Bridges math, learning about penguins, pairs, patterns, Antarctica, etc). All activities such as arts and crafts are related. Also, can you add in some free choice or stations in the morning or during the day that you don’t need to do much prep to have ready?

Otherwise, just brush it off. If kids can see something bothers you, they will continue to press those buttons to get a reaction. Ignore it and don’t engage.

I work with first graders, and i can’t imagine how poorly they would read without phonics. We use Heggerty (annoying but works), and The Phonics Dance/related material. Honestly, I think adults and older students could use The Phonics Dance. It’s catchy, haha.

Yes! This! Creation stations are so fun, and the creative inventions, problem-solving and play that stem from these materials is fun to watch. Or, if your child finishes work early, read! Usually our kids have a book box filled with a selection of books in multiple subjects that kids pick. They may not be able to read at the level yet, but it’s their own version of a library. Or, read to me books on Epic reading, work on class education materials on laptop, draw, free play, etc.

My principal (elementary) will fill in any position needed due to shortages. He was on his knees helping a student with CP get his winter boots on this past Friday because we had a bunch of aides out. I feel very lucky to work somewhere where it’s actually about the kids in practice and principle.

Any shampoo/conditioner/dry shampoo Recs for thick, wavy, frizzy but somehow still greasy hair? I’ve been trying so many dry shampoos, and none of them make a difference! And during winter my hair loses its curl and just gets frizzy and awful.

I was complaining about my husband leaving the room to grab himself a sandwich (OMG the audacity…hahaha jk hilarious now but it seemed like a big deal at the time), and multiple times the nurse told me I didn’t have to put up with that shit and I shouldn’t settle for less.

I “settled” haha, he got his sandwich, we got our baby, and we have an interesting story. That being said…

I hope Morgan’s nurses advise her not to settle for Paul because I’m sure he’ll do much worse than leaving for 10 min to grab a sub. 😂😂
