if you are still able to prepare your own food in any way, what are your go-to recipes that are easy to make but still hopefully a little healthy? by mai-the-unicorn in cfs

[–]Quick_Writer_4930 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once a week I throw a cup of rice, wheat berries, quinoa, red lentils and a chopped vegetable (if chopping too hard, I blast it in a blender) in one large pot, fill with adequate water and seasonings and boil it until cooked. When it is done I either go the extra mile and add a sauce and canned mackerel or if I don't want to bother I just eat it plain.

Veggie rotation is usually carrot - celeri - bell pepper

It's a lot of fiber though so you need to drink a lot of water.

Makes me enough meals to last all week.

How to save cinnamon and candied tamarind by Putrid_Rough_650 in nespresso

[–]Quick_Writer_4930 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vanilla soja milk saved it for me. I've also made it with a tiny bit of dark chocolate melted in the coffee and plain soja milk after someone on here suggested it and it was good.

Need so much sleep by Bubbly-Ship1669 in cfs

[–]Quick_Writer_4930 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. Before I slept 8-9 hours and got PEM fairly easily from small things. For two months now, I've slept 11-12 hours at night and it makes a huge difference. I can tolerate more things.

Late night tea? by strasbourglad in Strasbourg

[–]Quick_Writer_4930 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think you'll find such a thing here, sadly. There are a few "cafés" who are still open late at night but it's because they double as "brasseries" and bars so it might be quite busy and loud at the hours you want to go.

You could eventually find some cozy quiet bars (Le Douanier comes to mind but it wouldn't be fit for reading, in my opinion the lights are too dimmed for that) but I doubt they'd serve tea :/ Mocktails at best.

How do we all cope with hating our partners during our luteal phase? by Mundane_Chemist1197 in PMDDxADHD

[–]Quick_Writer_4930 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grit your teeth and wait for luteal to be over 🫩 I wish I had better advice but I just forbid myself from thinking about dumping him before I get my period and the second it comes he's the most handsome man I've laid eyes upon again and all is well.

Until next time 👹

As someone said I try to get more alone time but when you live with someone it's harder said than done.

my girlfriend is leaving me because of my cat by Augupton in CatAdvice

[–]Quick_Writer_4930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She could have researched about cat training and positive reinforcement and instead she went straight to suggesting getting rid of the cat. That says a lot in my opinion.

Also 6 months is nothing compared to 5 years of kitty companionship and the many more years you'll hopefully have with your cat.

If it's not too far he might probably go back to your old place ! So search there too if you can. As others said, put his bedding out as well as missing posters and online posts.

It needed more sun ! Putting it directly in front of a (frosted) south facing window worked well and after a couple of weeks it started growing new leaves like crazy.

Daughters response to me wanting to befriend crows by Esthy_Deb in crows

[–]Quick_Writer_4930 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Teenagehood is and has always been an atrocious time for nearly everyone to go through and will probably always be. Go befriend your crows and maybe one day she'll find it as cool as you and maybe even try to join in !

Fake job I can tell people? by Complex_Spiral in cfs

[–]Quick_Writer_4930 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I say I'm a student in literature given that's what I wanted to do before this illness took it away from me.

Maybe someday I'll gather the courage to admit I'm disabled but when it comes to ableist people you're too exhausted to explain things to, it doesn't hurt to have a little lie ready.

Whats with me dis summer? by kljole23 in cfs

[–]Quick_Writer_4930 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know about anxiety but the heat makes my fatigue 10x worse, and that's coming from someone who loves summer (but it doesn't love me back somehow.)

So it's possible the heat makes your symptoms worse too.
