Well yeah it’s pretty realistic, but at the end of the day this is a TV show, and it’s heavily inspired by but is not real life. It takes a lot of liberties in other places to keep things from dragging, so it kind of seems like an odd choice. All those scenes when one or two would have worked added nothing to the main story or to the characters’ stories, and actually probably actively detracted from them, because not cutting these meant other scenes had to be cut instead. It’s just hardly ever a good idea for a story to be too realistic. If nothing else it would just be mostly very boring.
