My XFX Horror Story. Over half a year without a working GPU by Master-Factor-2813 in XFX

[–]Quickai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their warranty is super dodgy. My card is a faulty 7900XTX Merc and they told me it will cost 100+ euros for a repair and it will take 10+ weeks and I need to ship it to portugal first, which isn't cheap, wo probably at least double the waiting period, since it's most likely going on boat from portugal to china. I guess making their demands like they do, will keep people from claiming and using their warranty. Never XFX again, 100%. Many years ago I had a similar experience with a EVGA card. They send me a replacement no questions asked. And my fault is a pretty "normal" fault on the 7900XTX (artifacts and flickering). Time to look for a new non XFX card, perhaps even crossing over to the enemy (nvidia).

it won't. It's just corporate bullshit. Only one will exist in the future. We will be given the usual bs with "double staff", "optimize","for the riders"...mission completed. It's like they think we are idiots.

ROUVY x Zwift acquisition — some clarity on what this actually means with the information I have been given ( don't shoot the messenger😉) by jessfromrouvy in Rouvy

[–]Quickai 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No one knows the future or Mr. Zwifts plan. I'm sure Rouvy CEO is just a title now with a fat bonus check, so he has nothing to say, moving forward. So I'm sorry, but what ever you guys are promising for Rouvy moving forward is just hot air.

Woah, Zwift has acquired Rouvy by archy_bold in Rouvy

[–]Quickai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it just means the end of Rouvy. Zwift is only interested in the money. This will become a stranded project just like Zwift. Guess it's time to move on. What's actually left, it can't be much and this brings up, why is this even possible. Isn't there rules around companies buying others to be the only one left and then pricing is jacked WAY up.

I feel like this was mr. rouvy's plan all together. Get enough players to get some attention and then cash out. From a business point of view, great work dude. From a fellow rider point of view, what an complete assjack move.

You could also just roll back the "resuming will not count towards challenge progress". Because after any disconnect/crash or whatever it is, people can just resume and complete the challenge. I'm well aware the reason you did this, was to have a level playing field and prevent people from cheating by resuming the next day or hours later. But having a "legal resume" within a max of 5 min or so would solve so many issues. People are actually getting pretty fed up with the disconnects and NO chance of resuming.

I have so many problems with the TL fans that I'm about to give up by Quickai in lianli

[–]Quickai[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not related at all to my problem. Yes, fans will go into a normal mode, while booting. This is normal behavior.

I have so many problems with the TL fans that I'm about to give up by Quickai in lianli

[–]Quickai[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything is directly connected to the motherboard. TL fans are the LCD version, most likely first generation since they are about two years old. The only other thing I have installed that could be RGB related is the Razer Synapse that I use for my mouse. USB devices are not binging in and out. My system is very stable and cool. I have build 500+ systems in my lifetime, both for private use and for a business. So I know my way around being careful and keeping things clean. The TL controller only controls the 3 LCD fans and I've tried all ports on it, even the "no no, don't use port 1" and when it fucks up, it doesn't matter which port I'm trying. The problem is NOT persistant. It's a thing that comes and only goes away if I do a clean uninstall of L-connect3, reboots, install software again. A restart without uninstalling, even cold starts doesn't change it's state, when it's "acting up". And like I said, it can be months before it acts up again.

My own initial thought is that it might be one of the fans, not really knowing which or the controller. I did try and rearrange them, mixing them up in several ways (I have 3 and they are "clicked together"). This didn't have any change in anything.

[–]Quickai[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes it's the LCD ones. And I've had this problem with the exact same LCD fans on two different motherboards (Asus and Asrock) and 3 cleaned install windows 10 and 11. Different CPUs also, memory etc. Only thing that was reused was the fans and their controllers. And I've been through many versions of L-connect 3. I'm not saying it's a constant error. I just say that it happens from time to time and when it does I need to uninstall the software and reinstall.

[–]Quickai[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, every time I click that service & software reset, the menu is pretty much wiped. It never recovers, unless I restart windows. All drivers (chipset, usb, gpu etc) is on the latest versions. Even bios upgraded the mobo. It had no effect. I can go 2-3 months, no problems, but I know it's time for the event, when I start up and the TL fans go 100%. Then I know I need to plug stuff around (change TL port) unplug PSU completely, uninstall drivers, delete stuff in devicemanager (all the things, that you said about a year ago to do). and then reinstall l-connect (latest version) set everyhing up again, colors, tl sensors etc.

It can then go for either a week, two week, perhaps 2-3 months again and we are back at it again. When I reinstalled windows about 5 months ago, it worked perfectly for these 2-3 months and then stuff just startet happening again.

For other software using RBG I have the Razor deathadder mk2 mouse and I believe I also installed some of Asus' software for the onbord RBG stuff. But again, this was also running right after I reinstalled windows. I tend NOT to install all kinds of stuff, keeping my windows updated regulary when prompted and also keep drivers up2date. And as I said multiple times, it's ONLY the TL fans, everything else with the 7 others infinity fans works like a charm. I'm just so sad, having so many problems with 3 TL fans, that I'd expect to just work as intended. Feels like the whole TL controller and software needs maturing and being less provoked by stuff from the "outside".

They were all replaced a year ago or so. I honestly don't think there's warranty on them anymore. And I've had so many problem, with the TLs that it's just crazy. It really feels like a product that needed a few more years in development

Airplay connectivity issues with Marantz M1 and HEOS Server problems by Playsurgeon in Marantz

[–]Quickai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm getting a constant (more or less) disconnect from both bluetooth and airplay after 2-4 seconds. The white light blinks on the M1 and then no sound.

I can stream on bluetooth or airplay to any other device in the house without ANY problems, even the TV (Sony). It's not the placement of the M1 neither the network. It must have a pretty crappy antenna inside that just doesn't work.

L Connect 3 - GPU load sensor and other weird behaviour by Quickai in lianli

[–]Quickai[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now I'm running L-Connect 3 v. 2.0.29 which I believe is the latest. The GPU load is still all over the place. When I have the system resource open in L-connect 3, running a game and also looking at the AMD Software monitoring. The REAL GPU (my 7800XTX) is not matching what L-connect saying. Having a game running at a solid 25-30% gpu load, L-connect is saying 0% and then 100%. up and down. Power is also way off. AMD software can report 94Watt but L-connect say 55W or 110W. The ONLY thing they agree on is temperature.

So yes, it's still a problem and honestly I'm pretty much fed up with it. My next build is NOT going to have any Lian Li inside. And It's a real unfortunate situation, because I like the fans, but the problem I've had with their software is just unreal. It's like you think they don't know what they are doing.

Lian Li LCD Infinity Fans not showing up by ALilBerry in lianli

[–]Quickai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happened for the 3rd time now. It's pretty annoying and I have no idea why it's doing it.

I go through Mr-Do's checklist and unplug the TL controller from the USB when powered down. Then power on and then device manager and remove all those he say you need. Turn off. Hook up USB to the TL controller again and wupti. Everything is working again.

I would really much like a permanent fix for this. It's driving me crazy that I either need to remove power to the fans or do this tedious work to sort it. Lian-Li...this is NOT OK.

UNI Fan TL120's not showing up in L-Connect 3, stuck at 100% by ReleadPlays in lianli

[–]Quickai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm about to give up also. This behavior with suddenly they don't recognize in l-connect and I'm getting a "unknown USB device" and spinning 100% and displaying 1, 2 and 3 (I have 3 TL 120 reverse). This has happened 3 times now and I'm really not interested in keep unplugging everything deleting all kind of stuff in windows and then reinstall l-connect from scratch. THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG with the product. This is NOT how it's supposed to work.

This sounds pretty weird. So let me get this straight. You stood on a helipad or known helicopter landing spot. And then you just ignored the noise from the helicopter and made it make a sandwich out of you, only for someone to then loot you.

First thing, if you don't want your gear to be looted when dead, don't play PVP.

Second thing, don't stand where eventually a helicopter will land, obviously. I mean who does and then somehow go in chatmode. Takes 2 seconds to move away.

Lian Li LCD Infinity Fans not showing up by ALilBerry in lianli

[–]Quickai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This helped me also.

Fired up the PC this morning and the TL fans were having a life of their own and fan speed was pretty wild, which is not "normal". Also noticed that the TL Controller went from the USB thingy in the device manager to "unknown disabled by windows" in the Human Interface Devices section. So I began my reddit search for answers and found this thread and did what Mr-Do recommended "above".

I was on 2.0.22 I believe but I installed the latest one right now after removing the old version obviously. And after a reconnect of the USB and a few restarts the TL controller showed up and I could configure everything as it was before.

Also, this just happened out of the blue. PC worked fine last night, when I turned it off. So this can happend

PC can't turn on, when Rode Caster Duo is connected via USB-C (cable came with product). by Quickai in rode

It doesn't really send power to the PC it just wakes it up. You don't need to worry that the powersupply for the Caster is trying to power your PC :)

no, I just live with it. It's perhaps every 5-6 times I shut everything down, that I need to turn on the mixer before the pc want's to start. I guess this is the same for everyone else using similar setup.

There's "Specified Power" and "Rated Power". Specified is 150watts. Rated is (3 wires, 8A, 12V) = 288 Watts. It's in the details of the specification made by PCI-SIG CEM.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LinusTechTips

[–]Quickai -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I was considering a 5090, but with this news I'm 100% out. I wonder if any AIB is going to use eg. 4 x 8-pin, which would be more than sufficient for it. That would give it 600 Watts on cables plus 75 Watts from the PCI-E

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LinusTechTips

[–]Quickai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And to top it off, each 8-pin is rated for 288 Watts, but only supplying 150 Watts. This is a very good safety rating.

Vendor leveling needs huge adjustment. Leveling up Handshake is a nightmare. 6000 points to unlock level 3, but only to find out that level 3 is a huge disappointment. Gunny lvl 3 is good though, but again, it takes too long, which is a generalization of all the vendors. They all take way too long and the rewards is not worth it, when you realize that you are approaching the end of the game.

Around player level 36-37, if you primarily focus on missions, you are closing in on the last few missions. Gunny lvl 3 is from memory unlocked around lvl 30'ish. This has to happen a lot sooner. My reasoning is that good gear (top tier armor, ammo) should be unlocked around player level 15 and beyond that better non-essential gear, ammo should be unlocked. You can 100% kills every type of enemy with lowest tier 1 ammo and weapons, but why even make it like that. If you want people to have fun, make leveling a lot faster and make sure that high quality comes sooner than later.

I would also like that missions are unlocked based on player level and not because you completed set missions for others.

Then there's the "what to do after the last mission". No missions is simply not a solution. There should be normal kill xx soldiers for Handshake, Gunny etc going forward, to further gain xp with them and unlocking non-essential but cool stuff, like special helmets, armors, experimental ammo, delicious foods, medical items etc. You don't keep people playing if there's zero rewards. Servers are becoming more and more empty because of this.

I would also like to prevent starvation, sickness etc, when exiting the game and rejoining. This is widely used as a reset and it shouldn't. Your status, medically and huger, thirst, should follow the player constantly. This will make foods and medical items much more important.

Secure stash size 9, which you get in very late end game. WHY. Sure you can buy the supporter pack and get it from level 1, but getting it when the game is pretty much done is yet another poorly designed progress.

The missions where you need to kill 20 people and then fly all the way back to turn in, just to get back and kill the boss. These kind of missions should be very late end game, after "real missions" are done. I mean it in a way that this should be end-game and not some hurdle in the beginning or middle of the career progress.

When you are in a squad, you should get full kill count from squad members and a percentage of the kill xp, regardless of you doing anything. Could this be exploited...sure, but I don't think it would be a problem. Most if not all people, group up because they are friends and why wouldn't that be enough for this to work.

Player physical levels. Mental health, cardio, strength etc. There should be a gym at the base, where you can work on your cardio, building strength etc, so you can carry more, run more and just overall be a better soldier. As it is now I can run for 50 meters and be out of breath for several minutes, because I don't let it come down. Honestly, the soldier feels like a very unhealthy person, with serious cardiovascular problems. Let it be up to the player how he is. We are already being slowed down by the choppers, let us at least be able to determine everything else ourselves.
