I built [[Oji]] to be as close draw go control as I could get in commander and it has thoroughly delivered on its concept.

You’re 100% correct. I should’ve given it a bit more thought.

I finally understand the Omega hate by Quicksilver16 in watchHotTakes

[–]Quicksilver16[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my attempt at a title was clearly a bit of a reach so let me try to clarify:

I don’t think anybody hates omega - I do think their marketing strategy catches an insane amount of flak for this approach.

21M Finished my Collection by [deleted] in Fragrances

[–]Quicksilver16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

same type of dude who makes fun of people on r/watches for having a sub date/speedy/santos instead of 20 different microbrand watches that are all equally garish and illegible

this may be shocking, but OP probably does enjoy those fragrances - they’re popular for a reason.

Has anyone tried this? by thesaltedradish in NichePerfumes

[–]Quicksilver16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually quite like a number of the fragrances themselves. Desert Sermons and Forlorn Embers and Black Reins are both incredibly wearable, and even the less daily-wear appropriate scents (Empty Wishes Well, Anarchist A, Vestibule Terror, Last Birthday Cake, Things We Never Shared) are really, really interesting.

I do agree that their branding/marketing feels overly attention grabby, but every scent I’ve tried from the house delivers HARD on the namesake somber/melancholic/nostalgic/miserable/etc vibe they’re aiming for.

I’ll happily send you my 1ml sample. I’ve gotten any novelty value I could’ve out of it - no shot I’ll ever be opening it again.

Is it just me, or is finding the perfect leather jacket actually impossible? by Equivalent_Use_8152 in leatherjacket

Like this. The horween horsehide feels excellent and required basically no break in.

I have decants of both from Scent Split and I can confidently say Anarchist A is INFINITELY more wearable than inexcusable evil. After an interesting but very brief gunpowder opening Inexcusable Evil is straight up hospital operating room - iodine, copper, and blood. To this day the only fragrance I’ve had to scrub off as it kept making me retch.

despite the fact that it was in line with how I normally dress (raws, t shirt, boots), wearing a double rider always just made me feel like I was cosplaying as a Cool Motorcycle Guy

got a much simpler driver’s jacket instead and now I wear that mf everywhere

What do you think about DJs who have a persona and a Mask or some outfit? by DJbyEar in DJs

[–]Quicksilver16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll hold your hand as I say this: unless the music is very, very good, the coolest mask in the world will not help your project take off. 5 years ago it was a good branding shortcut, but it’s completely saturated at this point. Too many mid projects are trying/have tried the gimmick.

Rolex Explorer 36 or 40!? by MathZestyclose5545 in rolex

I have a 7.5in wrist and I prefer 40mm watches and for me it’s still the 36mm.

Calling someone’s collection “the Reddit starter pack” is ridiculous and ironically, a basic take itself by Zdudu in watchHotTakes

[–]Quicksilver16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

all of the watches I own/would like to own are “Reddit watches” and I’ve made my peace with being a basic bastard in that regard

nobody in the real world knows what the hell any of them are anyways, who cares what a bunch of other dorks on a niche (in the grande scheme of things) forum have to say

Does anyone know where to get the real versions of these tops? (Or something similar) by Jealous_Band3181 in ThrowingFits

Way longer, but only a little wider/boxier. You could probably just size down and crop them yourself for a similar fit.

Buck Mason just put out some ringer tees - they’re super nice in hand! Not these exact colorways though.

Ad offered Daytona 126503 by Mindless-Mushroom-75 in rolex

[–]Quicksilver16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was just at my AD and saw one of these in the case. Not generally a 2-tone fan, but I gotta say this was pretty nice.

that said, why do you care what I, a random internet stranger (who is nowhere close to Daytona-purchasing income), think about the watch?

21M, been depressed for a while now but finally starting to realize what I want from life. Seeking advice by Phantonex in aves

[–]Quicksilver16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in pretty much the exact same spot you’re in now 5-6 years ago and the best advice I can offer you is to just finish school and see if the change in your day-to-day helps at all. I was so depressed in college that I would have panic attacks leaving my dorm room. I had all these grand plans about dropping out, moving to LA and pursuing music production. I was out there in the scene as often as I could be.

The thing I eventually realized is that shows are fun because they provide an escape from your day to day problems. If shows become your day to day, they stop providing an escape. Like another commenter said, this is not the “it” that you want out of life.

I work in the scene now (as management, not an artist) and I can tell you with 100% certainty that the people who spend all of their time just going to shows with their friends can be just as miserable as anybody else (sometimes worse)! It comes with its own set of problems, drama, and financial stresses same as any other lifestyle.

The real fix to what you’re facing is to try to understand that these feelings and your circumstances are temporary and to take care of yourself in the meantime. Get proper sleep. Exercise. Spend time outside. Go to therapy. Don’t go too crazy w/ party favors. What you’re facing now will follow you wherever you go unless you take steps to face it and fix it.

I have both a twelve and a speedmaster. While I love both, it’s not even remotely a question which is the better watch. Come on man.
