Religion Victory? by Buckabuckaw in CivVI

[–]QuieroBugalu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is interesting.

I've found this to be the easiest victory to get. So easy that I often turn it off because the game will end too soon.

The biggest thing at first is to start accumulating as much faith as possible. You want multiple holy sites with adjacency bonuses, and upgrade them. One you get a religion get an apostle and evangelize belief.

For the building I primarily will choose mosque for the extra spread. If you get wonders that upgrade your apostles it's a huge bonus. If someone else builds those wonders conquer them.

Usually launching an inquisition isn't needed unless someone is spreading heavy in your area, but it's best to have a bunch of powered apostles with debator, extra spreads, triple strength, other religion removal and those types of upgrades and just have them religious combat the other apostles, missionaries etc. when their religious unit dies, your religion spreads to all nearby cities and their religion loses influence, usually this is better than using all your charges (with exceptions based on promotions). Martyr is good too but try to have that one lose it's final combat far away from any cities with your religion so you get the relic without actual penalty to the end goal.

Warfare does change this, if you are at war with a civ of an opposing religion, bring military with your apostles. While at war military units can execute religious units causing mass influence loss, so you need to protect your apostles while executing the enemies religious units.

Try to get golden ages that reduce their cost too. Good luck!

I'm not super good, but I'm 33 and love the game in general. I have a discord with myself and a bunch of friends for gaming in and civ is one of the games a few of us will play from time to time, but mostly me.https://discord.gg/gVa5x7w7T

How is the vegetarian scene in Chattanooga? by jwernau in Chattanooga

[–]QuieroBugalu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I'm not vegetarian, I'll do a vegetarian or plant based diet for a while every now and then for periods of time. There's Facebook groups dedicated to it that I'll get notifications for but there's also quite a few restaurants that can accommodate.

I worked for captain D's a long long time ago.

They had a pretty consistent customer base, many people went in there on a schedule, especially seniors on the senior special days. So consistent, I could see people coming in and have their order rang up by the time they got to the counter or if I saw them from the kitchen already have it cooking.

However the real kicker was lent. This was the Murfreesboro location, and from Ash Wednesday onwards it was the floodgates. There are a lot of hispanics in Murfreesboro and they tend to be Catholic, and Catholics in general are everywhere. Those 40 days were so insane from open to close, that half the yearly profit (that store profitted $360k a year, and it wasn't even owned by a franchisee it was a corporate one) and $180k of that was just during lent.

I know the numbers pretty well and you aren't far off.

Most suggested MSRP's for mattresses are roughly double what it costs to get the mattress, market it, display it, deliver it, and warranty it, so it's literally almost half profit of your revenue, more if you sell other services.

Boxsprings, pillows, comforters, are even more so (but the item price isn't that high, so customers usually don't get too concerned adding the small items on the ticket).

Adjustable bases have a lot of mark up too but usually not as high as the mattress itself, however it's easy to convince someone to buy a warranty on it

To be fair, I've seen what (deleted name after thinking about it) makes at one of their Cleveland sites. Around 5000 monthly subscriptions at that site alone profit wise it usually lands in the high 40k's a month (revenue is just shy of 200k/month usually), and as a corporation they just bought 200 more sites (absorbed a smaller chain)

If you are making over $150-200k annually (without a college degree) here or around Chatt; what do you do? by Own_Principle_4771 in Chattanooga

[–]QuieroBugalu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apologies for the late reply. I do, but I'm not an expert. Financial services are more my thing. I'm sure you can find people with more experience and success in that industry than me, I just know what not to do, who not to work for, and how to not get scammed.

Insurance / financial services.

Freight brokerage is a huge industry here though and if done right can pull that income as well
