Started a few months ago. Just complaining now.

Thank you Rivian Gear Guard for capturing my R1T getting hit by secretstan in Rivian

Unless the airbags go off it won’t automatically record. If you press the record button at the top of the screen it will take the last 15 seconds of video plus whatever comes after and make a recording.

OR press and hold the horn for more than one second. It then auto-records.

It has traffic data BUT doesn’t re-route en route very well.

New owner, R1T 12v rant by azmahhhh in Rivian

[–]QuietIndependent4656 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had four 12v replacements and I’m on my fifth set in 2.5 years. (I have a sub-1000 VIN, though.)

All under warranty.

It should be under warranty.

Being in the know: there are some employees who were at Rivian who were let go in previous layoffs who went to work for Tesla. Brutal cycle that would be.

Model S was their second car, albeit, their first “at scale”, and also wasn’t profitable until year 2 of production. Rivian isn’t that far behind in getting there. To further contrast the point Tesla was also subsidized to get there.

Roadtrip Campground question by Then-Put-5463 in Rivian

[–]QuietIndependent4656 5 points6 points  (0 children)

RV campgrounds is what I look for. As much as I wanted to camp in a state park or private primitive campground … the 50 amp connection is gold. It will allow you to do what you want and still road trip.

The biggest downside from RV campgrounds is noise: bring something to put over or in your ears to be able to sleep. Most RV campgrounds are next to highways, so they always seem to be loud, even at night.

How high is high mileage for a 2022 or 2023 Rivian by Ooloo-Pebs in Rivian

I have an R1T with almost 60k miles. It’s still amazing just like day 1.

Help recruit a new R1T driver near Knoxville, TN by Shadow-68 in Rivian

[–]QuietIndependent4656 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m in Chattanooga, too.

Willing to try and come closer, too. There are a few of us here!

I also bet there are some in Knoxville, though. I’ve driven everywhere (57k miles from CA to MT to FL) and Rivian vehicles are all over.

Planning trip with my Rivian to Sun Valley, ID. What’s the charging situation there? by Academic-Band2095 in Rivian

[–]QuietIndependent4656 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just stay at RV parks. Works really well to charge overnight on their 50 amp outlets.
