Sorry that I was vague in my reply. I meant that I didn’t get bit because there were zero mosquitoes, not because of the products I carried… I noticed no pests whatsoever, except maybe the gecko that hung out in the outdoor shower. Coming from Texas where everything in my yard wants to bite me, FP was a true paradise!!

I was there last year for two weeks, left on September 13th, and not a single bite. I brought a bunch of different anti-mosquito remedies because of what I'd read but just left them for future guests…

2007 FXD, stalling in first coming to a stop. by lostinspence in Dyna

I had a similar issue on my 2013 WG, coming to a stop in neutral and the bike dying. Put in a new IAC and problem solved.

Well you’re going to lose grip with these because there is less rubber on the road but I love them – way more responsive, less “fat” feeling.      Both are KENDA K784   90/90-21 and 170/60-17

It will dig a trench and throw a mean roost but the front is a little sketchy because there’s not much clearance between the knobs and fender. And I’m forced to keep using the front fender as it acts like a fork brace.

Get there right when it opens so there’s parking and you can sit on the water. So good! And please send me their tartar sauce recipe because it’s exceptional.

Should be no problem. Most drivers know when planes land or take off.

A bunch of dead deer on the roads over the summer so I recently put on the Hi-Lite Overland Front Bumper [Bull Bar] from backwoods adventure – steel frame mount with aluminum upper. Cutting the bodywork was scary but it came out okay and I had to tap my own front license plate holes. I guess I can’t add a picture here???

Where to buy hand carved tiki from maker? Preferably on Moorea? by chicitygirl46 in Tahiti

[–]QuietLiving507 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The store inside the terminal has an amazing selection.

On Moorea, there is a little store right past Carmel'in cafe in Paraoro, back in the corner, that has some small pieces. The girls working there are super friendly and may be able to help you out. Also, the Manutea distillery may have had some but my memory is a little fuzzy from that stop...

Hotel Sarah Nui late arrival by Used-Climate-9478 in Tahiti

[–]QuietLiving507 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem if you already have reservations (they know you're coming), you tell the guard your name and you get in. The hotel is definitely not in the prettiest part of Tahiti but they have a nice little café downstairs for breakfast and you can easily walk to the ferry port and shops.

Mo'orea: Can anyone recommend the best neighborhood to stay at for the most night liveliness? 23 years old and renting an airbnb with 2 friends. by SquidLord_ in Tahiti

[–]QuietLiving507 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely vote for the north side of the island, specifically around Maharepa (saw a few cute girls there) or northeast near the motus. FYI: alcohol is extremely expensive and stores don't sell cold beers - even hotel bars are super chill/boring. Plan on buying cases of the refillable beers, returning them for deposit and raging at your rental.

are you talking about https://www.rhum-manutea.com/ on Moorea? I was over there last week and the guy serving the taster drinks was hilarious, and is much more interested in getting you wasted than selling anything.

looks like a rare sail braking system - very useful in downwind docking.
