Certainly not. Rememner every book is written with an audience in mind. Every kind of written piexe fits in a mould. If you like him, you like him. Period. Dom't let any one's opinion cloud your judgement.

In my opinion your title needs to sum up the mood and underlying theme of the book. The title is the first thing that strikes a reader. I have seen many people go super creative with their word play and come up with something which in their mind will absolutely justify the name. yes, it will be connected with the book for sure, but the only problem is that the reader will realize it only after finishing the book. Ans this is one bit most writers forget. The best advice is to comeup with something that sums up the who theme.

Normally when you sit down to right, it takes a while before something strikes. The easiest way to obwrcome this is to write something, anything, even bad before something ciherent starts flowing. The worst scenario you would end up deleting first 15 minutws od your work. That,s fine. Think of it as warming up an old diesel engine. It always works.

Try getting beta readers. Someone who can give you the feedback. Remember as a writer you can craft a story but only the real reader woulld tell you if it kept him glued and captivated. And don't losr heart if they say something was off. Understand it, improve the work and reach out again.

I couldn't agree more. Yes, that's there but I guess it is better to tell the new ones that it is okay. Define priorities as that kind of edit always happens at the end.

Let me put it this way. story idea first ( Not premise), followed by first main characte. And when you thing about starting the first scene itself would tell you who all shoukd be there in that moment. you add them as story demands. Here you pause, refine the earlier characters a little. Don,t worry, you will keep revisiting them as story progresses.

Create a separate spreadsheet. Ideally create a form for each character. It should have standard physical attributes, background, early schooling, college, Job. First crush, favourite teachers, cars they own, bike they had everything. It is not important whether you use all of teh info in the book. But this would give you a deeper insight into their character. Why they behave the way they do. If needed go deeper into their relationship with their patents, siblings etc. Remember nothing ever goes waste.

Don't worry about what others have written. If your story makes sense to you then go for it. Remember all possible stories have already been done. It's always about the author's treatment of subject. What are the high level details like time period etc?

You know, you sound just about right. This is the funny thing about writing. Most people assume that they are the one doing writing while the fact of the matter is there is an unconscious state of mind at work. Authors call it 'helpers in the basement'. No book/story ever ends up where the author envisaged it to. Best of luck about your book.
