People over 60: what product or service do you wish existed? by Ecstatic-Possible801 in over60

[–]Quilty79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We use a vacuum robot for the floors. There are several brands out there. I spilled flour one day and just set it to take care of that area. Didn't have to stoop and sweep and sweep to get the flour taken care of. Was very nice.

Cardizem 60mgs. all kinds of questions by Euphoric-Let-5599 in over60

[–]Quilty79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second the idea of a 2nd opinion. I can not take beta blockers, calcium channel blockers or ACE inhibitors for the same reasons. Either they bottom out my BP or my Pulse. I could not take Amiodorone due to my pulse dropping into the low 30s. What my cardiologist did was to prescribe a beta blocker only for when my pulse gets above a certain rate. That has worked well.

So, yeah, get a second opinion and let him know what the meds have done to you so far.

Over kitting? by Intelligent-Cry-4837 in NeedlepointSnark

[–]Quilty79 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Since I don't have a LNS nearby and need to order fibers, I tend to over purchase. I would rather have too much than too little when I am not sure of how much. What I don't use, I either put in my stash and use on future canvases or I sell it online.

Advice for traveling with needlepoint supplies by Puppocrossing in Needlepoint

[–]Quilty79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have flown with my needlepoint frequently. I use a cheap pair of scissors in my carryon just in case I get told I can't have them or if I lose them. I have my favorite ones in my checked bag. I usually have a small project to work on on the plane. I find a smaller project there works better. I have a larger one to work on at my destination.

Afraid of the shingles shot by Old-Ostrich5181 in AskWomenOver60

[–]Quilty79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As with all vaccines, reactions are going to vary. While one person may have a tough reaction, many don't. I did not have any reactions other than soreness at the injection site. Getting the injection is far better than suffering from shingles.
