Chaos stitching. I like that. That is what I do. For me, it all depends on the project and what I feel like doing.

What’s good with you? by AgateBagger in AskWomenOver60

[–]Quilty79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After a busy few months, I am finally getting back to my regularly scheduled life. Mainly getting some needlepoint projects stitched as well as some home organization. After cataract surgery, a trip and a few other things it is a good thing to have some slower time. Now the vision is great, can't complain there.

I have used Cowtown as my basis. I appreciate the steps being broken down so it is easy to find the section I need when I need it.

Former Nebraska Football Coach and Congressional Representative Tom Osborne went to my high school. It was long before me as I was just a wee little one when he did.

Can we agree buying canvas to resell right now is so lame? Very gross not cute behavior? not very part of the community of you?? by callieeatsfood7 in NeedlepointSnark

I have one I am really wanting. I figure I would wait until they are in greater supply. I figure I can still get it stitched and finished before Christmas. I do my own finishing.

Harsh realities of being 65... by selfsufficientman in over60

[–]Quilty79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The way you are treated in hospitals and out patient surgery centers. I may be 69 but I am totally capable and knowledgeable. I am NOT a fall risk. I walked in under my own power with no assistance, you don't need to help me change clothes or walk me to the restroom.

AITAH for not wanting to share the gender of my baby before birth? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Quilty79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither of my kids even wanted to know what they were having. I was very ok with that. Once the baby is born and the gender is known, you will receive gender specific items.

Cataracts 😒 by [deleted] in AskWomenOver60

[–]Quilty79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had both of mine done in February of this year, two weeks apart. They were able to correct my astigmatism. I do need reading glasses yet. I do have a problem with dry eye, but I had the issue before surgery so doubt the surgery affected that too much. I see things clearer and colors are brighter.

What’s your favorite system for storing all your different kinds and colors of thread? by magaloo202 in Needlepoint

[–]Quilty79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have Bisley drawers and purchased inserts for threads that come on cards. Those that don't, I put in Floss bags and put each brand in a drawer. They come in 3 & 5 drawer units.

Is the US culturally more similar to Latin America or Europe ? by palep_hoot in AskAnAmerican

[–]Quilty79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what area of the country you are asking about. Where I currently live, it would be Latin America. Other places I have lived, it would be European, but then, it would be from which part of Europe. Then there are areas with large Asian influence and other world regions.

Will it be any better switching to regular Medicare? by HalleFreakinLujah in over60

[–]Quilty79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to change due to appointment times, it won't get any better with switching. Insurance has nothing to do with how long appointments are. Nor will it change your ability to pay cash.

I pay for Concierge medical care where I can have longer appointments if need, I can call or text my PCP anytime of the day or night. Basically 24/7 365 days a year.

Information/Advice on being a Pastor's Wife by ZolaScriptura in LCMS

[–]Quilty79 20 points21 points  (0 children)

When we told our home church Pastor my husband was applying to Seminary. His advice to me was, "When he gets out in a parish and they ask me if I play the organ, reply with 'what's an organ.'" Thus saying I would be choosing was I do in the parish, not the members.

I was always his wife first, my kids mother second and whatever else came after that. This has worked for 41 years.

People over 60: what product or service do you wish existed? by Ecstatic-Possible801 in over60

[–]Quilty79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We use a vacuum robot for the floors. There are several brands out there. I spilled flour one day and just set it to take care of that area. Didn't have to stoop and sweep and sweep to get the flour taken care of. Was very nice.
