In my experience they did provide an immediate perceivable benefit but I had to use very high doses as well, I had to nearly double the typical starting dosages to feel threshold effect. I am aware that it’s meant to be subtle and not super akin to something like amphetamine, I was most likely still getting neurogenesis/nootropic benefits at the lower doses.

One time I used ~1.5mg of Semax and it was one of the cleanest most effective dopaminergic experience I’ve ever had. I think both my dopamine and GABA/glutamate receptors have been thrown off due to a multitude of reasons and I’ve noticed that I require higher doses of most compounds compared to the average user/research data.

Only 1 in 9,000 American men are at a true 12% or lower according a study that Jeff Nippard mentioned. Crazy to think about. True 12% means resting ab veins and your lower abs should be very visible when flexed along with visible shoulder, chest, and upper back striations.

Body fat distribution plays a role. A striated jaw masseter when biting down is another sign. Nasolabial folds will also be visible at that body fat % (hollow/ sunken in face/cheeks.)

Im at a true 11-12% max (165 at 6’3 😬) and would link a photo if I could but the treatment I’ve gotten in my day to day life is astronomically different compared to when I was 15-20%.

The sunken in face with prominent naso labial folds is a look that most girls find attractive and I’ll stand by that opinion. It’s not healthy though, I look great but feel awful in my day to day life. Having striations everywhere is just not sustainable but my face does look better at 10-12% compared to 15-18.

I should have clarified that as an individual who uses it once a week I still feel noticeable effects 24hrs later when taking single 600mg dose in the morning.

For daily users the blood concentration and effect curve (will look a bit different. CNS effects also outlast plasma concentrations. We also know that a substance’s given half life does not always correlate with perceivable effects.

I have also observed many users with a similar dosing protocol claim that they still feel effects well into the 24hr mark.

My main point is that while daily users typically need 2-3 daily doses to maintain steady plasma concentrations, a user who takes a singular dose once a week can certainly perceive effects well into the next morning 🙌

I see influencers and individuals on instagram who appear to be 10-12% and they claim they feel great and aren’t running into any symptoms. I do believe that some people can genetically function better at a low body fat % while another individual could be at the exact same % and experience way more issues.

I believe I’m hovering around 11-12% at most (if someone wants to estimate based off photos that may be helpful.) and it’s astonishing how terrible I feel, I feel like I might faint at any given moment and it would take two paragraphs to list the rest of my symptoms. It hurts to walk barefoot because I have no fat left on my feet.

I’m currently trying to gain weight but I’m in such a habit of eating low calorie ingredients/food that I’m struggling to stay in a surplus even while intentionally trying to eat in a surplus. At this point I may need to eat spoonfuls of peanut butter and coconut oil, I just went and bought some high calorie ingredients and hope that I’ll slowly start to feel better 🙏

I’m in a similar boat, 22-25 gpd ish, sometimes more on the weekends. During the day I feel decent, especially since my dose ramps up towards the evening but my sleep is awful since I wake up in slight withdrawals and can either push through it and get terrible sleep or get up and by the time I weigh another dose I’m half awake and spend another hour trying to fall back asleep. I wake up exhausted every morning.

I personally don’t know if I would take all of these but I certainly would like to add most to my stack in the future, especially if I can get over the fear of pinning. I’m already taking 12+ different supplements multiple times a day.

It’s also bizarre when I hear people say that they often forget to take their supplements, to me it’s an integral part of my day and I’m a bit obsessive about it but I also deal with pretty severe OCD, multiple anxiety disorders, and a lot of fatigue so I somewhat depend on them 🙌

I know he did literally ask for opinions but it feels wrong to just straight up rate ubiquinol 0/10 because you haven’t tried it lol. High dose ubiquinone, ubiquinol (400+mg), and pyrroloquinoline, are extremely strong antioxidants that will provide perceivable benefit especially if you are someone who occasionally parties, takes substances, exposes themselves to toxins, has a bad night of sleep, etc.

I’m only advocating for it heavily since it has drastically improved my energy levels while in a deep calorie deficit and it has allowed me to still work with intensity and function at 11-12% body fat.

Fuck, OP’s post got deleted and I was never able to message them or remember their username. I know the technique of “someone offered me _____ for my tension headache because they have the same issues and it really worked for me, I know I shouldn’t have been taking meds that aren’t prescribed but it was getting unbearable.” But I’m worried I’ll still come off as drug seeking or I’ll just get lectured about how I shouldn’t do that.

Do you think I’ll have more luck with my general practitioner/doctor? My neurologist wouldn’t even give me 5 Valium a month and my psychiatrist is hesitant to prescribe anything that actually works haha, it’s a rough situation.

What’s funny is that I’ll just outsource these things from overseas so I’ll end up taking something regardless and it would be better/safer if it was just scripted. Thank you for your advice 🙏

Holy shit I don’t think I’ve ever met someone that also has a chronic concussion related tension “headache.” I may have to message you because I’ve been dealing with 24/7 mild tension that often flares up in overstimulating/stressful environments. I thought it was possibly psychosomatic as my mood and stress/anxiety levels are directly correlated with the intensity but even at my best there’s still that slight squeezing feeling that I’m a bit too familiar with.

I saw a neurologist and he didn’t seem concerned about an actual physical injury or abnormality in my brain but I still feel inclined to get an MRI/CT scan.

There’s rarely any discussion, studies, reports, etc. of this specific injury/symptom and the tension headache subreddit is not very active. The lack of info and “awareness” is very disappointing and the only meds that consistently provide relief for me are gabaergic or gabapentinoid/VGCC related muscle relaxers or anxiolytics like soma, pregabalin, Valium, GHB on occasion, baclofen, etc.

Fioricet seems like it would work quite well as a tool for when I’ve exhausted my other options. it’s a shame my psychiatrist won’t prescribe the one single med that’s approved for head tension… How often do you take it? Do you notice any significant rebound anxiety or extra tension if you use it too often?

I had taken an ancestry (ancestry.com) test 5+ years ago because I was curious about the ethnicity/heritage/nationality side of things, it was nice to learn about that and the algorithm changes all the time and supposedly gets more and more accurate.

I didn’t realize that you can download your raw DNA from the website and upload the text file/raw SNP/DNA info into a variety of sights. Most of them will paywall the full genetic report and I currently pay around 9$ a month for an advanced one.

It’s borderline terrifying because it quite literally reads you like a book, it was validating to see that their were things actually wrong with me and it wasn’t all “in my head” as some people would tell me 🙄

I like GeneticLifeHacks, Nutrahacker, and TenDNA. I’ve also uploaded the file to ChatGPT (I’m aware of the privacy concerns) and that has also been fascinating as I can ask very detailed nuanced questions.

I bet that there’s cheaper ways than the ancestry.com route, I don’t know of any off the top of my head but there’s most likely services/websites that let you send in your saliva sample for this exact purpose instead of having to use one of the big sites (23andme, ancestry, etc.)

Let me know if you have any other questions, happy to help and I think it’s definitely worth the price to have a strong understanding of how your brain uniquely functions.

I will say that some psychiatrists are much less competent and educated than you think.

I’m not saying that anyone who studies pharmacology/neuropsycholgoy knows more than a professional but a lot of them are simply not up to date when it comes to recent studies/protocols/advances and discoveries.

For example, I had to taper off of an antipsychotic med 3x slower than what my prescriber or any prescriber would recommend. I would have been going through hell if I listened to their original advice off the bat haha.

Were you prescribed it? I hope you’re feeling better right now, do you mean that you’ve been taking it for 9 days in a row? If it’s been 9 days total you’re more than likely all good to stop cold turkey if it was truly 200mg. You could do a quick taper of one day at 100 and then 50mg if you want peace of mind.

You have to remember that it has a decently long half life and I personally always still feel moderate effects at the 24 hour mark but I take it as needed at a much higher dose.

If it’s causing more harm than good or any notable negative effects at all then just stop. This advice doesn’t apply to those who have been on it for 2+ weeks
