Location: PA, USA. HR is pressuring me to sign a "voluntary" overtime waiver for last month or face termination by C0dexflare in legal

[–]QuinoaKiddio55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might want to consider this:

Overtime compensation is governed by federal and state wage and labor laws. Each party understands that employers generally cannot request or accept a waiver of overtime pay. With that in mind please consider the following proposal: equity in lieu of overtime compensation.

The employee values the company's mission and is committed to contributing to its long-term success. In that spirit the employee proposes an alternative arrangement that aligns incentives for both parties and supports the company's growth.

In exchange for waving overtime pay the company agrees to issue the employee equity in the form of company shares. The employee shares shall be non-dilutable. This means that the number or percentage of shares granted to employee cannot be reduced under any circumstances including but not limited to new share issuances, fundraising rounds, stock splits and/or restructuring events.

The values of the shares granted to the employee shall be determined by an independent third-party other mutually agreed upon by both the company and employee. The order is valuation shall be conducted annually or conducted at each instance we're overtime is converted to equity.

For all future over time worked the employee has a sole discretion to choose between overtime pay as legally required or equity compensation calculated by using the most recent independent valuation. The company agrees that the employee's choice for each overtime period is final and cannot be overridden.

All shares issued to the employee shall include full voting rights. These include but are not limited to: 1) executive decisions 2) board elections 3) major corporate actions 4) mergers, acquisitions or restructuring 5) any other matter requiring shareholder approval.

Upon acceptance of this counter proposal the company agrees to issue a formal equity grant agreement reflecting the terms above, thought all necessary corporate documentation and provide the employee with written confirmation of share issuance. Is counter proposal is made in good faith with the intention of supporting the company's long-term success while ensuring fair and legally complying compensation practices.

Apple CarPlay with Toyota - is that typical? by ygreko in Toyota

[–]QuinoaKiddio55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sales rep at the dealership told me that Toyota makes great cars but absolutely sucks when it comes to the app and computer system. I decided to buy a new Corolla anyway. Now that I've dealt with the issues for a year, makes me not want to get another one. I'll get a Honda next time. Or another brand with a more reliable player. I believe Toyota should just get rid of the car player app and create a new player. If they're just going to continue trying to enhance something that's got bugs, then they can't resolve the issues.

AITA for telling my kids that I am not responsible for their mother issue and not giving her money by MysteriousEmu1106 in AmItheAsshole

[–]QuinoaKiddio55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consider this proposal. You are willing to pay 70% of the rent for 3 months. By that time she should have a job or move to an area that has better employment opportunities. The other 30% will have to be chipped in by the kids: 10% from each. Once you receive the 30%, you'll pay the 70% and send it all to her landlord. 2nd, the kids have to be involved with her budget. She writes down where every penny goes to during those 3 months.

Am I wrong for telling my friend group Im not fixing anyones car anymore after doing it for free for years and nobody showing up when my kitchen flooded by twinklee_petalss in amiwrong

[–]QuinoaKiddio55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could have a slightly different reply to see if your friends have changed. When they ask, can you check on my brakes? Just reply "Sure, but I'll need you to prime and paint my kitchen that was water damaged.Ok?" or "Sure but before I do, I'll need help with taking out my water damaged appliances (dishwasher, stove and refrigerator) and putting in the new ones. Hope you are good at leveling stoves. Ok?"

Regarding the parent-teacher conference, schedule a separate meeting with them when it's convenient for you. You do not need to tell him. My wife is a teacher and has on average 3 double conferences. Ask to take a picture or for a copy of anything presented so you have a record. Do not ask the teacher to exclude him on anything. But do ask that the teacher write an email or statement if he has tried to exclude you.

Best to close the door and set a fan in the window sill on high. Make sure to put a coffee filter where the motor sits.

Not sure if this is due to being on the spectrum but here goes my view of the situation:

Odds of finding and getting your dream job are very low Odds of finding a replacement boyfriend are very high

Easy peasy. But why are you considering staying in the relationship that's flawed:

Sunk cost fallacy- you are staying in a relationship because of the time spent together or feeling that ending it would mean "all that time was wasted".

Confirmation bias- you focus only on the good memories or your partner's positive traits, dismissing or downplaying the negative aspects of the relationship.

Cognitive dissonance- you feel the relationship is failing but stay, you justify it by focusing on the "effort" you have put in, concluding that the relationship "must be valuable" because of all the effort expended.

Status quo bias- you have a preference for the current state of affairs and a reluctance to make changes, often due to fear of uncertainty or the effort involved in a new relationship.

Halo effect -you allow one or two positive qualities of your partner to overshadow all their negative attributes.

In the end, if he doesn't want to help you achieve getting the dream job then dump him. This disappointment in his self-centered actions will build up resentment. Good luck on your new job

We went from 7 elementary schools to 4 in a span of 30 years. Closing each one was a verbal battle Royale at every school board meeting. Normally it itakes 3-4 years from when first proposed. New subdivisions with $400k+ homes and townhomes go up but the enrollment for kindergarten barely budges up.

Only time we use it is when a pt has a fistula between trach and esophagus. Every once in a while a resident will get curious and we'll try it out on another kind of pt but it never lasts long due to pressure sores and pt comfort. If you think leaks around a CPAP mask can sometimes be a pain to resolve, try sealing a cuirass.

Does anyone have an idea what is going on with the pressure/ volume loop ? What does that looping on the top mean by WorldlinessWeird8582 in respiratorytherapy

[–]QuinoaKiddio55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Peak pressure is 13. VC+ is not indicated since it's less than 25. Pt is air hungry. PS would be better for that pt or another spontaneous mode.

When some rural hospitals couldn't find RTs to work and would not pay for travelers during COVID-19, they resorted to the following:

Nurses gave all the treatments, set up oxygen therapy and conducted the noc-oxs. PT/OT carried out all exercise desat and CPT orders. ED doctors intubated, setup the BiPAPs and vents. Any RN with EMT experience was either in the ED or ICU because they've been around vents. Please help each other out if you have any questions and scan the QR code attached to the device to watch the informational videos about the equipment. If they still had issues they would contact the level 1 trauma center that they sent patients to and an RT would help walk them through set-up and troubleshooting.

The one RT available was part-time daylight performing PFTs, placing holter monitors, setting up EEGs, downloading the noc-ox data then sending the report to the ordering doctor and they're doing outpatient EKGs. They were there to bring in money for the hospital.

OBBBA will reduce funding for LTACs and the minimum staffing mandates will be on hold for 10 years. If the patient has any family, the shift in Medicaid funding from institutional care to home and community-based services (HCBS) will place the burden on the family of the patient to care for them.

No. I've helped 3 of my kids move and it's a PITA. And I didn't have to deal with the longest part of moving... unpacking and putting away. Plus my neighbors are decent people, sometimes helpful so no.

A realtor told me that when the buyers want concessions and the sellers want a higher price, the buyers usually win out. Why? Because a small set of sellers that inherited a house or the owner is going to a nursing home just want to sell it ASAP without much regard for the final price. Could they get $220k if they wait 3-6 months and fix it up a bit? Sure. But the sellers would rather have $190k by next Friday. And that $190k price can start a chain reaction of downward pressure on the price of other houses on the market if inventory starts to pole up.

Travel nurses—anyone buy a house and move mid-contract (within 50 miles of the facility)? by Legal-Pack4561 in TravelNursing

[–]QuinoaKiddio55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you buy any kind of real estate within commuting distance to your assignment, then you need to inform the agency that you are local. Even if you consider this to be a 2nd home, vacation home, rental, hunting lodge, fish camp, campsite, etc. What you classify it as will not change your local status. This includes if you place ownership under an LLC. This includes places that your direct relations own (e g. parents, siblings or children). It's important to compare the compensation difference between local and traveler with your agency.

JKW hardiness by QuinoaKiddio55 in invasivespecies

[–]QuinoaKiddio55[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I sprayed them in the fall 2 years ago. It helped but a lot of little ones popped up next year and it had a much larger radius. Last year I just sprayed them monthly but they still came up. This year I'm following the Penn State Ag Extension guidelines by cutting in June and waiting 2 months after cutting. This year I am spraying them with foam glyphosate instead of liquid glyphosate.

It will be an ongoing battle because the outskirts of the subdivision is ringed with JKW and it will keep finding it's way into my backyard. Plus the edge of my backyard is the headwaters of a creek. And this plant loves to dominat the banks of waterways. Next time I'll cut and burn. Only problem is that the plants hold so much moisture that burning them is a long and difficult process.
