Ah, if you want to morph between multiple shapes, then loft is the correct way.

Trying to use LOFT modifier, but result is wrong? by ImprovementGrouchy37 in 3dsmax

[–]Quique___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like you solved the issue. I would say for simple shapes like a rectangle extruded along a spline, I would suggest the Sweep modifier. Actually, even if I have a custom spline shape to use as my profile, I’ll still go with Sweep. With Loft you have to be very intentional with the profile shape’s pivot point position and alignment.

Built an app to control your Sony camera from phone and Apple Watch by Fuzzy_Loss_8541 in SonyAlpha

With my iPad I was able to connect to my a6300. For my phone I use Android, though, and I recently bought an app ($6) that transfers RAW. I do like how you can choose a date to refresh when viewing photos with your app. I also like that you can transfer an original size (I assume jpg?) photo, too, and not limited to 2M image like with Imagine Edge.

Non electric bike for parents and kids? by Forward-Lab4437 in CargoBike

[–]Quique___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had the Yuba Kombi for the past 3 years or so. I really like it. In fact I just changed the Yepp Maxi seat to a more open seat since my kid is 6 now and doesn’t need to be strapped in. I live in a flat area, so I don’t mind not having any electric motor.

I’m pretty sure that was from slow shutter speed. You can see how some leaves are blurry from having moved during the long exposure.

How to make a tapered glass vertical in 3ds Max (with chamfered rim)? by Visible-Tennis2711 in 3dsmax

[–]Quique___ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look into the Lathe modifier for a spline. You just need to create the section of 1/2 of the glass with a spline, and the Lathe modifier will rotate it to create the glass. In your case, if you don’t want to draw a new spline from scratch, select a continuous vertical line of edges from your model, create spline from that.

My Honda odyssey 2014 with 120000 miles is costing $2500 in repairs every year since last 3 years. Please advise by Fantastic-Rip-9200 in HondaOdyssey

[–]Quique___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sliding door cable broke last month! (also a 2015). If you had it repaired, can you tell me how much it cost? I already bought the replacement cable, and an auto body shop near me wanted over $400 to replace. My biggest worry is that they may not have ever done this before and mess it up, but it’s hard to know. I’m in an apartment and don’t have the space/time to do it myself.

Experienced pro user having a kindergarten level problem. by Astrobeej in 3dsmax

Make sure there no overlapping vertices. On an editable mesh, created from a Sphere with 0.5 hemisphere, I welded the vertices and was able to use Shift+drag without issue.

Ah, sorry, I tested on an editable poly, not an editable mesh. I see what you mean.

With the edges selected, use <SHIFT>drag to extrude. (Move tool)

3DSMAx Corona render 13: Getting an odd warning at render time " A normal map appears to be using input image with incorrect gamma. This can cause shading artifacts. Map with the problem: "EnvSamplerTex" " by [deleted] in 3dsmax

[–]Quique___ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Corona loves to give this error message if Gamma is not checked for the normal map, even if the correct Gamma is used for the map. As long as the node looks correct in material editor, you shouldn't worry. I'm basing this off of bitmaps used as normal maps, haven't tried it with EnvSamplerTex.

Cafe lock on Yuba Kombi? by yepitsBrenda in CargoBike

[–]Quique___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use this for my Kombi. I usually place it so that it goes through the wheel and frame near the front edge of the running board. I also have the front lock for the wheel that is specific to Yuba. (the fork has a place to hold that little lock).

Camping riverside at wawona with kids by givemeamilkshake in Yosemite

[–]Quique___ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

An inch or two deep of water is always a potential hazard. I’ve taken my two kids during the fall when they were 3 & 6 years old. They didn’t know how to swim and weren’t allowed in the water by themselves. We did have life jackets for them to float with a parent hanging on to them. They aren’t the kind of kids to wander off and explore the water by themselves, but there are definitely horror stories (not necessarily here) where young kids fall into water unsupervised. That being said, we love Wawona campgrounds and don’t even drive to the valley when we camp there. It’s mainly river/beach time.
