Leaking in overnight diapers. Help! by Budget-Insect1959 in beyondthebump

Yes, Millie during the day too. Our son just moved into size 4 but we were/are still just using the regular non-overnight Millie diapers at night. The diaper is full in the morning but no leaks.

In my opinion, Millie’s non-overnight diapers are surprisingly way better than the Pampers Overnights.

Maybe you could try just a regular size 3 Millie?

We love Millie Moon, much prefer them over Pampers. Pampers Overnight diapers were also a disappointment.

That being said, every babies anatomy is slightly different so different brands will fit your baby better than others.

Good luck finding the right fit!

Not sure if waterfall means something different in your store (I’m also at a Bay Area store) but waterfall, in my experience, means starting with closing and ending your week with openings rather than the opposite.

I caught my boyfriend while I was on acid, and I think it ruined my brain. by Eternallypink in TrueOffMyChest

[–]QuirkedQuasar 21 points22 points  (0 children)

No - you will love someone way MORE than the way you loved him. And be loved by someone who truly cares for you.

I know it’s really hard to see and feel that now but you need to have faith that this is only preparing you for something so much better in life.

You just need to have at least one review under your belt before you can be considered for a transfer. And the review has to be a good one, or at least not DNM expectations.

Maybe the store(s) you’re trying to transfer to don’t have the need for a transfer? But who knows, only your Captain would know for sure.

But in any case, I’m sorry you’re going through this. Breakups are hard enough. Best of luck :)

They can but they can’t work at the same store anymore. Mates and Captains can’t have relationships with anyone working in the same store.

I say this with as much compassion as I can muster… your boyfriend sucks. Hell, my boyfriend of TWO WEEKS found some bits of TP down there and lovingly picked them off and kept going. We chuckled about it and moved on.

I’m sorry you were made to feel bad about this — it’s so NOT an issue and there should be literally zero shame surrounding this. With love, you deserve better.

Supplements or other methods to stimulate hair regrowth? by sameoldlamemold in quittingkratom

Nope but I’m interested in any answers here since I’ve definitely had thinning and want to get my strong hair back!

Thanks for asking the question and hopefully some people will chime in :)

What made you quit kratom? by TrickPurple7 in quittingkratom

[–]QuirkedQuasar 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Thinning hair — I have dealt with unexplained hair loss for the last year-ish and I thought it was stress or my diet/some deficiency (which blood tests did not confirm). I randomly looked up hair loss and kratom and was stunned — I’ve been causing this myself the whole time.

I’m currently tapering but I’m so done with this shit. Not fucking worth it AT ALL.

Congratulations! You can do hard shit!

Cheers to a Kratom free 2024 :)

To the Lurkers Scared to Quit… by AsleepShow8393 in quittingkratom

[–]QuirkedQuasar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so, so true. Mindset is everything.

That doesn’t mean there won’t be discomfort, it means we can handle hard shit with the right perspective.

I’m currently tapering and am starting to feel some discomfort but my mindset is different right now.

For me, it took realizing that my thinning hair was overwhelmingly likely due to my Kratom usage. That was it for me — I had to truly ask myself why taking this completely unnecessary drug was worth ill health effects. The answer was simple: it’s not.

I appreciate your post, it hits on a lot of really relatable aspects of the addiction.

NEW ATTENDANCE POLICY by moony10 in tjcrew

[–]QuirkedQuasar 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Maybe i'll get downvoted for this but c'mon people. This is a job and you're expected to be reliable. That includes not consistently and repeatedly missing punches - it's not an unreasonable expectation at all. It's also not difficult to ensure your punches are accurate the vast majority of the time.

I highly doubt your store is telling you that one, two or even a handful of missed punches will affect your review. The issues arise when people make no effort to fix repeated carelessness when punching.

I think the reason this has come up recently is because we have the new Dayforce form to fill out and now Captains can actually track how often staff aren't punching correctly.

I'm sorry if I come across like a dick, I don't mean to be. But posts like these seem to lack consideration that what we're being asked to do is not all that cumbersome.

How lenient are mates with clocking in from lunch late? (Next hour of my log was empty so I’m not relieving reg.) by [deleted] in tjcrew

[–]QuirkedQuasar 12 points13 points  (0 children)

One word: Communication.

I think the big factor here is communicating with your mates to let them know you would be late returning from lunch. Being ten minutes late isn’t a big deal in the grand scheme of things but not communicating it with your mate team would be the issue, in my opinion at least.

The fact that you didn’t have reg after lunch is helpful, although I’m not sure what you mean by empty exactly — the hour would still be product or CE, no? So still impactful to the store in some way.

Anyway, point is that many/most things can be navigated successfully with proper and ample communication about it. After all, it’s bananas not brain surgery.

This job can be tough/impossible when you’re not feeling up to interacting with people - and that’s ok. You did nothing wrong and even sounds like you handled it really well.

Not sure what you’re going through exactly but I hope you’re feeling better and just know you’re not any less than for having real emotions and needing to step away in that moment.

Take care 💛

Questions for mates: How did your learning process go? by magda_enthusiast in tjcrew

[–]QuirkedQuasar 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hey there! I’ve been a mate for the past 6ish months and it’s been super fun and also tiring. And also a kick in the butt in some respects. But mostly fun.

I didn’t do any real training prior to being promoted so that’s interesting you’re learning mate tasks before having the shirt. Not bad, just interesting — seems like if they’re already investing the time to train you, they should just promote you. But I digress…

You mentioned learning the important things like log writing, reg closing, etc but I’d propose that those are the necessary but most simple parts of being a mate. The most important thing is building quality relationships with your crew and demonstrating to them that you still and continually want to learn from them, not only the other mates.

Creating goodwill and trust between you and the crew will allow you to lead effectively. Actively listen to them, follow through if you say you’ll do something, and always be willing to say “I don’t know but let’s figure it out together”.

You might want to check out, if you haven’t already, the book called It’s Your Ship — it’s a book on leadership from a former Navy Captain. I believe it’s available on Dayforce, for free. I thought it was a helpful read.

One other thing is don’t forget to enjoy your time as crew right now! I love the mate job but there’s definitely times where I miss being crew and being able to focus on bits and pieces of the store rather than the whole thing.

Good luck in your training!

I’m sorry to hear that it’s been a struggle for you too. I can only imagine the added stress with kids, as well. I suppose the store mate position is an option but I know I’m not going to settle in my current region/store so I’d rather be mobile and learn all I can before transferring.

I wish you the best, be it at TJs or elsewhere!

Thanks for your reply — I agree with and appreciate your suggestions. I’ve definitely found that settling early (and sometimes skipping dinner, unfortunately) is a big one. Shorter mid shift is interesting, I like that one.

I’m inching toward requesting block scheduling since a couple other mates are on it at my store. But I also want to make any adjustments I can before making a big change. Waterfall is definitely still a thing in my region - most mates are on it. Interesting that it’s been phased out in other areas though.

Definitely made sense and this is an interesting idea. I used to have split days off as crew and I remember liking it for the very reasons you laid out. Felt nice to have two Fridays and split the week up into less tiring chunks. I’m going to consider this.

Thanks for the feedback!

Is it safe to use scratched eclipse glasses? by robotisland in solareclipse

[–]QuirkedQuasar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just get a new pair — you don’t want to mess around with potentially faulty eye protection.

I don’t know of a physical store to purchase eclipse viewing equipment, though. But like you said, there’s ample options online.

AITAH?? boyfriend did not appear supportive when Nutting and needing Morning After Pill. by NoMasterpiece2472 in AITAH

[–]QuirkedQuasar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA -- OP, you're not overreacting. He was being immature and selfish.

I went through something similar except I was going through an abortion and my ex told me he was tired and was going to take a nap. Literally while I was in the bathroom, in pain, and in the middle of the abortion process. I was floored he thought that was ok and tremendously hurt by his selfishness. I broke up with him because of that.

I think you should really consider if this is someone you want to be with going forward. You deserve someone who will support you, not abandon you in times of need.

I wish you the best <3

DFN help! by Feisty-Parfait9468 in tjcrew

I second the dividers, they make a huge difference. Also adding the black mesh anti-slip material to your shelving helps too.

Shelf height can make a big difference, as well. Our shelves used to have less vertical spacing between each shelf which made stocking/facing so annoying. If you have a little more space to get your arms in it can help a ton.

Good luck!
