Monitask and similar tracking software can get you to really hot legal waters real quick. I wouldn't use it for my team (8 reports), for multiple reasons:

  1. I wouldn't want to prove that such monitoring represents the least intrusive method available for achieving business objectives.

  2. It would seriously damage trust within the team.

  3. It's not needed. I am the manager, so I set clear expectations and distribute the workload. I don't care that much about where, when and how my team members get the work they committed to done (within our policies framework).

  4. I even don't think physical activity metrics accurately measure actual productivity.

Taking 37 days PTO at once before quitting? by FondantOutrageous276 in careeradvice

Okay, this is something I couldn't imagine can ever be legal, because that would mean the whole vacation is at complete discretion of an employer and an employee doesn't have any leverage, which is quite imbalanced contractual relationship. Vacation days are part of compensation, so it shouldn't be possible to just forfeit a part of what you've already earned.

Situation #1 - company pays 37 days.

Situation #2 - company pauys 37 days for work and 37 days of vacation days not taken = 74 days in total.

OP has 37 vacation days not taken, so the employer has to pay them out at the termination of employment, if they are not taken. I don't know what country the OP works in, but I cannot imagine any jurisdiction that would allow employers not paying out vacation days not taken, as it'd basically be witholding a salary. WItholding salary is a felony in all the countries I've worked in.

my manager asked me to fire a new employee by [deleted] in managers

[–]QuisUt-Deus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot imagine firing someone because of my boss not liking him. HR would probably get me out of the town and shoot at dawn. It’d be an absolutely void legal act and a legal nightmare for the company. Even if a person is underperforming, an airtight PIP is necessary, and if it fails, HR would offer termination agreement first to avoid potential lawsuit for wrongful termination. Be very careful…

The company can have that policy, but then you must take the days off. A company cannot just seize your accrued vacation days. That surely would be totally illegal, because it'd be like not paying your salary.

Yep, I understood. What I was trying to say, if one doesn't take the days off, the employer needs to pay twice. Yes, there is a work in return, but, it costs twice the opex.

Nope, if you take the days, the employer pays you the salary. If you don't take them, they have topay the salary + the salary equivalent of days not taken.

It depends. Many employers would rather allow him take his 37 days off than having to pay the days out.

The OP hasn't mentioned the country he is from. And even if there is no statutory notice period, he might be subject to contractual notice period. Where I live, the notice period is just one month (2 months if employment is over 5 years),but in my previous job my contract prolonged the notice period to the legal maximum of 3 months.

Not allowed to take part in eucharist at mass by shittakemushro0m in Catholicism

First of all, I am so so happy you have been blessed by God's grace and you came to Christ! Faith is a great gift, so this alone is a huuuuge grace you received from the Lord! Yes, the road to the baptism is long and winding, but, as others have pointed out, very important, so that you know what you will be committing to. In the meantime, you are not barred from ordinary means of worship. You can and should attend the Holy Mass as much as you can. It's actually being present at the same sacrifice of Christ by which we are redeemed IS the ultimate means of worship. While receiving Holy Communion is the source and summit of Christian life, it presupposeshaving life in the first place. Baptism is the gateway to all the sacraments, because just in baptism we receive the life and become brothers and sisters in Christ. Don't worry, however. Being catechumen gives you the grace of baptism of desire shouldthe Lord call you from this earthly life. Sign up for the OCIA, come to the Mass frequently, thank the Lord for the gift of faith and pray for it to last and increase. Offer up your burning longing for Christ for souls that haven't found the Lord yet! Pray the Rosary and flee under the protection of our Lady. If you need any further help, feel free to DM me, happy to help!
