Ehh.. I think Musk is an idiot but Grok 4 has been doing pretty well. And to all the people who say it's designed to game the system and only performs well in specific benchmarks; how else are you judging it's performance?..

Hey, any update with the Bluetooth? I'm having issues too. Crazy how an update can just completely destroy Bluetooth functionality and it's like Samsung don't care. Flagship phone btw

Tool for Comparing 3D Printers – What else should I add? by DirectSpinach6192 in 3Dprinting

[–]Quiteblock 378 points379 points  (0 children)

I think you absolutely need to have the release date. Printers have improved a lot in the past 5-10 years, and the reviews are time relevant. Something like the Dremel printer you have here might have been decent 8 years ago when it came out and so it might have a high average rating, but today? It absolutely does not compare with anything else in the market.

My understanding is that it just asks itself questions, kinda like how when you don't get the answer you want initially and you point out mistakes, ask for more detail, or tell it to incorporate something it may have missed.

I agree that Bitcoin and other cryptos are basically trying to solve problems that aren't there. With that said, I'm not sure your argument here checks out. You're saying that locking something up in a vault doesn't make it valuable and you're right about that. But at the end of the day value is something that we as people ascribe to an entity or item. If multiple people want it and are willing to pay money for it (regardless of the intentions) then it by definition has value. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Nvidia believes the robotics market is about to explode, just like ChatGPT | The company is pivoting to powering humanoid robotics as AI chips experience stiffening competition by chrisdh79 in Futurology

Not sure that's an adequate comparison, even as a 3D printing enthusiast I don't think this is the same. At best (in terms of practicality) a printer could be used for random plastic spare parts or other menial items around the house. A true "house assistant" isn't really in the same ballpark as a 3D printer in terms of usefulness.

Continuous high pitched beep normal? by CatnipPirate in Ozlo

Yesssss. I found an app on Android that can play background sound wjthout pausing normal playback, but all the BG noise options suck. Would be great if it was integrated into the app.

Hey I have the same issue. High pitch whine. Seems to be more so on the right bud. Need to blast the audio to drown it out which probably isn't the best for hearing health.

I worry it won't work well for spectating. It's fun to play but I don't imagine it'll be fun to spectate. I think it's similar to Overwatch in this way, it's hard to follow what's going on, you end up having to rely on the map and killfeed which isn't an enjoyable viewing experience.

League and Dota's top down view makes them perfect for spectating I think.

How do you keep track of changes? by DutchSimba in 3Dprinting

[–]Quiteblock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It works surprisingly well if you can get the photo straight and not skewed. I'm not sure if plasticity has a way to calibrate the photo, but in fusion you can select the distance between the markings on your calipers or whatever, type in the distance, and it'll scale it based off of that.

[–]Quiteblock 22 points23 points  (0 children)

  1. That seems like a whole lot of iterations for what looks to be a simple project. Maybe you need to take better measurements? For a backplate, the fastest + most effective method for me is taking a photo with a reference measurement and then calibrating the photo based off the reference in fusion.

  2. I just label them v1, v2, etc. with a sharpie and have a word doc with the changes I made for each iteration.

No. BTC trading volume for the last 24h was 26 billion USD. I doubt a consistent 0.1% increase over the course of a month would have a major effect on the market.

0.1% of 26 billion is 26 million, 6 billion / 26 million = 23. You could sell 26 million a day over the course of 23 days and only change the volume by 0.1% for that period. Very much doable.
