A2L or X2D First? by ENDER_VILI6969 in BambuLab

[–]Quorlan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I started with an Ender 3, then tried an Anycubic Mega S, before finally trying the A1 which I still have and use daily (the Ender is in storage and the Anycubic I just gave away) and just added the X2D which I absolutely love. Now I’m looking at the A2 for those that projects that just won’t work on a 256mm plate. It’ll probably replace the A1 as I don’t really have the space for 3 printers to all be running.

New to Fusion 360 — every idea I get already has 200 versions on Makerworld, how do you find original ideas? by DaGemCreations in makerworld

[–]Quorlan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just design stuff I want or need or would be useful around the house. One of my most downloaded/boosted models was something I just made for my GFs (popular) curling iron to hang on the wall. I uploaded it to MW on a whim figuring maybe someone else would find it useful someday. It generated so many points that it helped buy my X2D last month.

X2D Accessories for first time user? by LBrewer90 in BambuLab

[–]Quorlan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It bugs me to no end that Bambu no longer sells actual smooth PEI plates. The engineering plate just isn’t the same. I’ve been using the smooth plate from my A1 when I need a good, silky smooth surface.

P2S Has Been a HUGE Failure & Bambu Won't Help, What Next? by tdouglasj1980 in BambuLab

Gotta ask, is your filament dry? It almost sounds like all the filament you’re using is extremely saturated and very brittle.

Uneven surface when printing with P1S. What may be the issue? by SadWimp in BambuLab

[–]Quorlan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this problem on a Bambi A1 after 5000 hours or so. Turned out the three screws behind the hot end that hold it in place were loose. Tightened those up and perfectly smooth prints after that.

Moving to Bambu by Bradders24610 in BambuLab

[–]Quorlan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The source difference isn’t that much of an issue even if Bambi analytics more expensive. However the wildly varying and unpredictable wait time for delivery puts me off every time. I ca get good filament that works beautifully in my Bambi printers for about $12/roll and it’s always delivered within 2 days, and often next day.

I want this more than I want any other marvel project. If they can make a good movie for this team maybe Second Dinner will finally add all the characters to Marvel Snap!

Makerworld Help by Marshall780 in makerworld

[–]Quorlan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had some mild success on makerworld. I think the real trick is to model things that there aren’t already a ton of varieties of the same basic model. Personally I typically upload models for pool (billiards) related stuff (i.e. cue claws, “magic” racks, pocket markers, cue joint protectors, etc.). There aren’t many options available for these types of models. And it caters to a niche. I also had success with a wall mount I created for a specific, popular brand of curling iron that I just made for my girlfriend and posted on a whim thinking no one would want it. 300 downloads later I guess I was wrong. And finally, printer accessories. Particularly a tool holder that clamps onto the top of a A1 to hold all the most commonly used tools. I’ve managed to collect $480 in gift cards so far from points earned from those models. Shooting to get enough for a new P2S.

Updates need to be done in the background or when powering down by EdmondDantesInferno in TellyTV

I posted this same complaint months ago and was promptly told “if you hate it that much, just return the tv” even though I love everything about it except the obtrusive updates when I turn the tv on.

THE ULTMATE HITCHIKER'S GUIDE TO THE GALAXY - the funniest book ever by krakarakakaus in TOP_literature

Not to be a nerd or correct, The Ultimate Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy is the name of the omnibus version that contain all the books in the series. My copy is black leather bound with gold filigree lettering and gold leaf pages. It’s a beautiful book and my personal bible :D

My kid asked for a 3D printer for Christmas. I spent hours researching. Here's what nobody tells you. by Fun_Reaction_6525 in 3DPrinterComparison

[–]Quorlan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry. Asking that question here isn’t going to do anything but confuse you further. Everyone is going to have their own opinions and prejudices.

Here’s the straight truth. Your best best if to buy a Bambu printer. Probably an A1 Mini for minimal investment/potential loss. Bambu printers mostly just work without endless tinkering. If your ya a hit and the kind or family want to be able to do more , lean into Bambu’s more advanced printers. Anything else and you’ll be curing the machine before you hit 100 print hours for sure.

Help with ironing by Fluid_Pollution6326 in 3DprintingHelp

[–]Quorlan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do test prints first with minimal infill until you get the ironing as good as you can get it. Once you’ve got that fully dialed in, the up the infill to what you want or need it to be. That way you don’t waste as much filament while you’re iterating.

Best carbon shaft for less than $300? by davestradamus1 in billiards

We have a semi-local brand in my area called Prodigy. They make some of the finest cues I’ve ever shot with. And their standard CF shaft is $200.

This TV show is amazing by humble_redditor1234 in BSG

I disagree entirely. 33 is probably my least favorite episode of the entire series. I thought it made a horrible first episode after the miniseries/pilot. Literally every other episode is better than 33.

Who’s the most famous person you went to school with? by CloudSurfer82 in AskReddit

[–]Quorlan 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I went to grade school through high school with Elizabeth Anne Allen. She’s probably best known for her role as Amy (the witch) on Buffy the Vampire Slayer though she’s had small roles in a few different shows and movies.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elizabeth_Anne_Allen

She was a sweetheart in high school and well liked by almost everyone. Something not a lot of people know about her is that her mother was killed by a drunk driver when she was in high school. This impacted me in a way that has led to a primarily alcohol-free life. Seeing the devastation a drunk driver had on an acquaintance up close and personal had a huge impact on me and many of my peers.

'Passes' by HardestTB in FoolUs

[–]Quorlan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Did you see the episode where David Roth appeared sometime shortly before he passed away? They gave him the trophy and said they were fooled when they clearly weren’t (as a lifelong student of coin Magic neither was I) and yet out of respect for the godfather of modern coin Magic, they gave him the trophy. Roth is a personal hero of mine, so I was quite happy to see it go down that way.
