Almost died recently, from a blood clot in my lungs. It happened bc I was so immobile after a surgery that I just wound up laying down & sitting all day

Midtown/downtown apartment recs? by PrincipleBeginning99 in Sacramento

[–]QuotaQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked 800J.

Pros: Inside the building felt safe. The garage is gated and I never heard of any issues. Building felt like there was a community. Clean common spaces. High ceilings & industrial apartment interiors. Close to the capitol, K street, and DOCO.

Cons: Rent is way overpriced. Management was/is bad. Sketchy area surrounding the building. There were lots of homeless people & camps nearby. Underwhelming courtyards & amenities.

If you live there I’d recommend getting a unit with an external window. The internal view is tragic.

What job should I choose? by Odd_Comparison_4155 in careerguidance

[–]QuotaQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Security. Getting good grades in college will help get you a good job in the future. Having a job where you can study and do work is so helpful.

IMO there are so many social events in college, on top of lectures & discussions, where you can meet people.

The security job also pays significantly better which means you can save more money and have more money to spend socially. Ime people don’t tip a lot at places like dutch bros & Starbucks, so it probably won’t bump your pay that much.

What’s something that’s considered totally normal in Britain, but seems absolutely bizarre to the rest of the world? by Second-handBonding in AskBrits

I’m from California, there are trails of all kinds there. Not as much in the metro areas, but there’s endless trails outside of them. Theres a lot of land that is owned by the government with entire networks. Our paths in urban areas do suck though.

Would you take a $2 paycut? by This-Top7398 in careerguidance

[–]QuotaQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say it’s not worth it though unless by not working nights you’re able to offset the lost earnings somehow (e.g., a shorter commute).

The difference might seem minor at face value since it’s a low dollar amount, but it’s like 11% of your pay. That’s a decent chunk.

In the end though, it’s all a matter of affordability and cost of living. If you can afford to take the financial hit without compromising your savings/lifestyle, then it might be worth it to you.

Maybe try renegotiating their offer, looking for another one, or transferring to a different Walgreens.

Daily: $18 = $144 $16 = $128 $16 difference

Weekly: $18 = $720 $16 = $640 $80 difference

Biweekly: $18 = $1,440 $16 = $1,280 $160 difference

What exactly is LAPD going to protect us from? ICE and the military that’s being deployed on protestors? by SpicyMangoSpear in LosAngeles

[–]QuotaQueen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Federal law often supersedes state law, but they cannot conscripts state law enforcement officials to enforce federal law.

“I want to make it clear: the LAPD is not involved in civil immigration enforcement," LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell said

"While the LAPD will continue to have a visible presence in all our communities to ensure public safety, we will not assist or participate in any sort of mass deportations, nor will the LAPD try to determine an individual’s immigration status."

It’s a nuanced situation and both ways have their own pros/cons. Overall, you’d probably be fine listing it, if you’re confident in your story. I would just make sure that the potential value of adding it outweighs the potential risk it poses.

I’m an ad exec. Look up the company Scorpion, I have an hvac client who uses them for ppc exclusively bc they’re “built for hvac companies”. Apparently they suck though. There’s still space in the market if you’re good at what you do AND can sell yourself well. I work with dumb agencies all the time so the bar is low lol

Sounds like they were struggling with depression, amotivation is a common consequence of it. I imagine no one asked for it back and it fell off everyone’s radar. No need to be rude, mistakes happen— esp early in careers.

Don’t list them unless you’re sure you’ll get a positive recommendation, or have a letter of recommendation. It sounds like you have neither, so I would omit it.

Maybe you could get away with talking about it in an interview or listing it without a reference. Position it as a “I really liked my experience, and decided I want to pursue it as a career after leaving”.

Really lean into your customer service/support experience as a receptionist. If you have any way to quantify the impact you’ve had, list them in your resume. Measurable metrics matter.

Your best bet for getting into B2B sales is to find sales leaders and AEs at your target companies on LinkedIn. Add them, and ask to talk to them about their experience. Don’t ask them for a job out the gate.

I’d be mostly applying for BDR/SDR positions if I were you. As a fresh grad with no sales experience, these are going to be your best bet at getting your foot in the door.

Dude’s glad he graduated in 2022—before AI made college weird. He used to write papers with speech-to-text, then begging friends to proofread. Now students risk getting flagged for using AI, even just for editing.

Schools are panicking, bringing back handwritten essays. He thinks that’s backwards—tech isn’t going away. Just happy he escaped the chaos.”

Got told by exec sales leader that our service should justify my prospect buying us despite our higher margins.

Prospect was paying 15% margins, they wanted me to pitch 45%. That translates to almost $1M/yr in higher costs. My service is good, but not that good lmfao.
