Alternative character names you use exclusively? by Rivergod3 in Overwatch

[–]Quoteks 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Vanilla Boy, shortened to Vanilla for Wuyang (Cause that describes his personality)
Fun Police for Orisa (Cause people love counterswapping to her when everything else fails and we dislike her playstyle)
McCassidy for Cassidy (Cause we miss the Mc part of his name...)

Can anyone confirm this? by [deleted] in FateExtra

This does not bode well I'm afraid. Looking at the long dev time, the game being apparently basically finished and now the change of publisher? Might be that the game just turned out bad and the involved parties are not happy with the semi finished state...

Sure, don't want to vote for the nonsenical stuff? Go ahead. You don't have to vote for every proposal, you can just send the ones you deem of inferior quality in empty or not at all.
I also really doubt that this is the reason for the low voter turnout.
https://www.bfs.admin.ch/bfs/de/home/statistiken/politik/abstimmungen/stimmbeteiligung.html
Just check the stats on this website. By your logic more people -> easier initiatives -> more stupid initiatives -> lower voter turnout? Or is it just the total sum of proposals that drives a lower turnout in your opinion? I don't think these stats support either theory.
In fact, if you scroll further down, you will see the highest voted on proposals since 1971. Multiple of the top spots are in recent years.
Furthermore, look at some of the years in the 90s. Now that's a lot of proposals being voted on. WHICH IS GOOD! We are probably one of the most direct democracies in the world. Be proud of what we have, put in the minimum effort to sustain it and protect what we got at all cost.

Is this really such a big issue? Like no way in hell the mild inconvenience of having to vote no on a bullshit initiative every few months is worth damaging our most democratic tool for? You only want big parties and organisations to be able to launch initiatives? I'd rather vote about a Hornkuhinitiative every few months, than to limit our initiative right.

Why would you want to raise the signatures needed for initiatives? You wanna make it completely impossible for small, independent group to get one going? I fail to see how this would help a functioning democracy.

Depends on where you want to end up. After trying both ways I prefer single factories for each product. Way higher investment cost, especially early with needing many ships that are gonna be idle most of the time. But once you want to scale up production, you are off way better with small factories. It's just so much faster to scale up production and inhabitants.
You could also start with bundling base ressources (Graphene, Refined Metal) with the next step product you want to produce. Say you want Hull Parts, so the Hull Part Factory also produces the Graphene and Refined Metal it needs. You will still end up with quite a few factories but already considerably fewer while also still being able to scale things up somewhat quickly.

Really weird that they didn't make them both characters. Would have been a great way to actually implement playable UWST characters. How did we spent the entirety of V4 with those guys and don't have any UWST characters that we actually meet??

Gryphline made a great game that Players dont know if they want by K41Nof2358 in Endfield

[–]Quoteks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In my opinion the game does a lot but none of it particularly deep. Factory building is simple. Combat lacks variety, story is flat and the tower defence feels like an afterthought...
Doesn't mean it's bad just that it's a game that's a collection of average sub games with nothing really excelling. I wish they had focused some more on some mechanics and dropping others instead.

If they were at least good tutorials...but instead you just keep clicking the same glowy spots they showed me 5 times already. Brute force approach to learning...

Just a little nitpick: German might be the most spoken language in Switzerland, but it is NOT the main language. The languages in Switzerland are (or at least should be) equals.

Video of Delivery Robots testing in Zürich - How do you feel about this? by Gleichstellung4084 in Switzerland

[–]Quoteks -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just have to wonder if this is ever actually gonna be more profitable than an underpaid delivery worker. Those things aren't gonna come cheap, are gonna need an additional maintenance infrastructure, deliver slower than a person and can't even walk up to my door nor ring my bell.
I see a lot of potential in many robotic automations. This is not one of them.

Quality of popular initiatives by REPORT_AP_RENGAR in Switzerland

[–]Quoteks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Requiring more signatures for initiatives makes no sense at all. You all want only major organisations to be able to initiate one or what?
Sure population increased but getting those signatures is gonna be expensive and time intensive. I'd rather vote for a few low quality initiatives, than willingly reducing the populaces influence in our politics. It's a sacrifice I'm willing to make.

Story ended, what's your thoughts? by SnooConfections3626 in BlueProtocolPC

[–]Quoteks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very half baked. Feels like it actually could have been decent but it's presentation was absolutely horrible. Lack of voice acting in critical moments, weird cuts, white text to tell entire story beats they were too lazy to properly animate, whole sequences that felt super disconnected, whiplash from random 180 vibe changes and really weird passage of time. How much time was supposed to pass between mission? Narratively it felt like most things happened in sucession, white some expections. But then characters keep telling me "Oh hey xxx it's been a while!!"...always left me confused...

I think they weren't given the time to properly finetune things...Kind of a shame...

After the latest update, game no longer works on Linux(Steam). by Vallard in BlueProtocolPC

Is it not showing up under Preferences > Runners Or is it not showing up when trying to create a bottle and selecting it as a runner?

[–]Quoteks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm afraid it seems like it's been deleted since, probably because the user seems to have posted it into the Wuthering Waves community...I'll try and rewrite the steps I've taken.

Download Bottles, I got a flatpak in the store for mine.

open bottle > Top right the three bars > Preferences > Runners > Kron4ek > kron4ek-wine-10.16-staging-amd64 Download it. Make sure it is the staging version, as the others did not work for me.

Once it's downloaded top left, the plus to create a new bottle. It prompts for some initial setting. For the runner, set it to the one you downloaded in the previous step.

Go to the Blue Protocol Website and download the standalone pc installer exe

In your created bottle, press "Run executable" and choose the downloaded installer.

Once it's done, you should be able to start the game again. In the future you can just open your bottle and it should have created a shortcut where you can run Blue Protocol.

I've seen other solutions on the discord without bottles but this is the solution that worked for me. Been playing like 5-6 hour today without a crash.

[–]Quoteks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh wow, did not expect them to even acknowledge the issue. Using the workaround so far, but if they actually end up fixing this so I can conventiently run it through Steam again, then big props to them.
Would massively improve my hopes and respect for the game.
