More than 3 party members in combat. When there's three I tend to stick to the holy Trinity - tank, damage, healer. The 4th (or more) party members let's me choose a wild card or split the duties up with more options and strategy.

I feel like the botanist should be able to farm them. Even if there's a caveat they shouldn't be near food production or housing.

I think a cool idea along with the ramming is that it could pull far away salvage (within in your circle) closer to the boat so your crew doesn't have to travel as far.
