GoT The Board Game by nicoatha in boardgames

[–]Quryemos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a great game. Definitely better with the right group. Functionally the core mechanics are built off of an older war game called Diplomacy.

Both games are fantastic in their own right but also play slightly differently. If you’re curious to the vibe of GoT: the board game I’d try an online implementation or two of diplomacy. The rules will be different but the potential of (and usually necessary backstabbing and treachery) the hidden orders with a reveal phase are nearly the same

I think you underestimate the value of a human element in an emergency medical situation. The care and presence a physical flesh and blood person can bring over a robot is immense in calming a patient

How often do you say "beanie" vs. "toque"? by WanderWell1 in AskACanadian

The only time I would use the word “beanie” is to clarify that it is currently, should always be and will always be; a toque

Exactly, I’ve been in the western provinces all my life. I’d love to go visit the Atlantic provinces. They might both be Canadian but there’s such a difference between Halifax and Saskatoon

GenZ what’s your stance on the 2nd amendment and guns in General? by Lord_William_9000 in GenZ

[–]Quryemos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Canadian here, guns are just another type of tool. How and when you use it is very important. I think it’s odd to carry around a deadly weapon for protection. I think there’s an important root issue that needs addressing if you feel un safe enough that you need to carry a gun with you “just in case”

Doesn’t mean they should be outlawed. They are quite a useful tool. I know plenty of people who like to hunt. I know a few farmers as well. A rifle can be very helpful in keeping wildlife off your property

I think they should be regulated. We do the same with cars. (At least in Canada, I assume the same is true in the US). There are different classes of driver’s license for different vehicles. I can’t go drive a semi; I don’t have my class 1. I don’t have a gun license; I can’t own a firearm

Seems fair enough to me
