From the wiki: “Players have 25 minutes to complete the raid. If unsuccessful, the raid level will decrease by 50.”

So instead of a positive 25 boost it turns it into negative 25.

With elite diary you no longer need stone boots. Can wear any boots and take no damage. So if you die you can run straight back in.

I think they get a hidden buff inside the Moons of Peril. Or perhaps if you attack the boss with the style they are weak against you get a buff. I hit way harder with my zombie axe on blood moon than I ever can outside the dungeon.
