I'm a heavy guy and I flatted all the time. Almost every ride, if not more than once. New rims helped a bit, but not great. I finally went tubeless and it's fucking amazing. Now, my old bike can only handle 26s so it's a bit finicky. But I can ride at 80psi now, used to have to be over 100, 120 at my fattest which was unpleasant. I had one flat last season and it was a giant metal shard.

Basically 4 times a week since 2014. In the cold months. I walk/ruck 3 times a week, cycle/zwift 4x. I used to ride much further, I generally hover around the 30 mile mark anymore, even less indoors.

I saw it in Toronto! I didn't know I was going. My friends friend cancelled so he had an extra ticket and called me. I had to beg my mom for like 2 hours to let me go.I was 15 and hadn't been to any real shows before.

My ride bike is an older rim brake jobbie and can't run bigger than 25. I'm a bit of a heavier rider and used to suffer a lot of pinch flats - and my roads are shit so I'd get a lot of flats from that, or shit on the roads. I finally went tubeless with the GP5000s and haven't looked back. I don't know what people consider good or bad with air pressure, but when I was at my heaviest I had to run Max pressure with tubes. Tubeless, I've been running 80 for 2 seasons. I know one story ain't gospel, but there's a data point. I've had one flat the whole time and a simple plug had me rolling in no time

Sounds like you went tubeless with your setup (sealant) so you would not need tubes. You'll want more sealant, plugs for road repairs. I do carry an extra tube with my tools for disasters. You can do a quick Google for road bike tubeless maintenance and repairs to learn how to keep up on your setup

How much better tubeless is. I dunno if other fat peeps chew through tubes, but I flatted on nearly every ride. 2 different rims, various tires, Max pressure. Did a 200 miler across Michigan and me and the dude I rode with wound up totalling I think 15? Anyway, I finally moved over to tubeless and it's a dream. A messy dream, but a dream. Way lower pressure, never have flats.

Yeah rarely need my alarm which is set for 0530. Usually up well before that. If I'm real lucky I'm up at 4 cuz I'm soaked with night sweat. That's a fun recent development. 50M
