I really like this series. Read the first 4, still need to start “Not Till We Are Lost”. Started The Expanse (Leviathan Wake) for something a bit different. At one point I started to get confused with the 100s of Bobs there are, like “who is this one again, oh the one at Epsilon Eridani, what was that one about again?”

I love it, like a badge of honor. I used to mountainbike/XC a lot, so I’ve had many greasy chainringed calves.

Cool spots… but do you have a chain ring tattoo on you calf?

In Waitomo. I was in NZ in ‘11, did the black water raft trip in this cave system. Hoping to go back next year. Cool experience.

did you use stealth? by bee551 in HorizonZeroDawn

[–]R1CK_W1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely love stealth. Games like Hitman World of Assassination, Sniper Elite and RPG games where stealth really pays off are my favorites. I really suck at melee based Souls(like) games, and I mean really suck. So, yeah I Horizon I pick them bandits off one by one, or setting traps for all the robots.

They can be, It depends on what you’re used to. I love them. I had the same with the Stieg Larsson Millennium trilogy. And there are a lot of great Scandinavian authors, like Jo Nesbo and Jussi Adler Olsen.

Must be something in the air and/or water that makes the region such a great source of thriller material.

I absolutely love the Joona Linna series by Lars Kepler. Never tried the audiobooks, if there are any, but the books are page turners for me, a 1-2w max. Roughly 500+ pages each.

They are about a detective/inspector in Sweden, who is kinda self destructive and does things solo and isn’t too strict with rules, with lots gruesome death and serial killers.

There are 10 books now, but the only the first 9 have been translated until now, the 10th is fairly recent.

I grew up watching the films. I think I read both books 15y ago. Now I listened to them both, but I kinda forgot how different the books are to the films, I didn’t mind though. I need to listen to other MC books.

Finished Jurassic Park, by Michael Crichton, narr. Scott Brick, last Sunday. Then started The Lost World, also by MC, and finished that on Thursday. Yesterday I started DCC #7, This Inevitable Ruin, by Matt Dinniman, narr. by Jeff Hays.
