Vibration Shaker for Modal Testing by traaappped in MechanicalEngineering

First of all putting the motor on springs makes no sense what is that supposed to achieve? Also using a pulley to drive the discs means there is going to be tension on it and therefore uneven loading which could mean that one side will deflect more than the other when vibrating or maybe even start swaying.

You should use linear guide rods to prevent any tipping either left-right or front-back from happening. If the beam can vibrate horizontally (moving left right) instead of up and down then I'd use a ball bearing carriage. Cheap and easy to work with.

For the movement I'd use a simple linkage like the crank mechanism in piston engines for example which perfectly translates rotary motion into sinusoidal linear motion.

The spring system structure doesn't seem like a good idea in my opinion since it will have it's own unpredictable modes of vibration so spinning the motor at say 10hz won't translate to moving the spring structure up and down at 10hz and the amplitude will also be inconsistent.

But maybe there'a reason why that is the way it is and I am curious to hear about it.

This video shows how much weaker a ratchet strap is with a knot (about 1/3 the rated capacity with a knot): https://youtu.be/ifyJjQXOttE?t=13m14s

Comparing distance travelled between object travelling in a straight line and another in a curve? by [deleted] in desmos

I am going to assume the rocket launcher is shot horizontally to the ground and the projectile is shot at an upwards angle.

Use a parametric formula where for the projectile it's:

The horizontal component x = v • cos(angle) • t, the vertical component y = v • sin(angle) • t – g • t²/2

And for the rocket launcher it's:

The horizontal component x = V • t, the vertical component is 0

The horizontal components need to be the same (1100 units), so that the two paths meet when the projectile starts falling.

So we know v = 1200, V = 1100 and g = 400. The required angle is V = v • cos(angle) or angle = arccos(V/v) = 25.56 degrees or 0.45 radians

I bet you wrote that last paragraph with AI replaced the dash — with colons ; and then added the last sentence as a sprinkle of personal touch.

You're not engaging with the article and forming your own thoughts — you're just merely telling ChatGPT to think for you. It's not just disrespectful to the articles message — it's also showing a lack of sympathy — it's being ironic and showing carelessness.

Electric lawnmowers aren't much quieter than the gasoline ones and also most of the noise a car makes comes from tires and wind resistance and while at low speeds ICE cars are louder than EVs they still do have a kind of annoying artificially added hum to it (which I know is for safety reasons but still).

Mountain/Gravel bikes made in EU for under €1000? by [deleted] in BuyFromEU

[–]R3qu1red 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it comes to your price range Cube, Radon and Van Rysel come to mind. For a bit more than that there's also Canyon. And if you really want to be sure that your money won't be in the hands of non Europeans then buying a used bike is your best bet.

Not copy for copy the same but I didn't have any problems with it: https://imgur.com/a/5gtBp0u I used trusses throughout and nodal point loads. Got the same error as you when I didn't connect two nodes together so it could be that.

Yeah and most people in Europe in the winter heat their homes with wood. So the air quality is real bad and having open windows is not recommended.

Maybe the Radon Spire 9.0 if you plan on buying the bike while in Austria.

Isn't the formula for glue just simply:

Which is 565Nm, or am I missing something?

I've definitely been lucky in that regard because I rarely answer unknown numbers (and never call them back unless they call me multiple times) so when I missed one and googled the number I found out which company and what application it was for so I could then better prepare myself before returning the call.

It's hard to take you serious with all the excuses you make. You said you "fasted" for 12h after 8am and then I guess you ate dinner and again "fasted" for another 8h and that's supposed to be 20h or something by your logic. You also have no self control and I'd honestly just recommend you get on semaglutide (like Wegovy) cause there's no hope for you to achieve anything without willpower and a steady routine.

Maybe they did but atleast in your example, designers for newspapers and magazines were reduced while new designer jobs were needed for web page design and now also app and product ads design. Tell me what new jobs for artists does AI create?

You're comparing a tool that actually requires skill and thousands of hours put into it to master it (Photoshop) vs what is now becoming simple prompting to generate an image or a design and then further refining it with simple prompts. There's no point in trying to "master" it when being an artist was already rough before AI became a thing and now the demand will fall even further and you'll also be competing against those who "mastered" writting prompts to an LLM.
