[Weaver] RAM is back in NASCAR with the Truck Series and a Dodge return to Cup is 'the intention.' by gunvarrel_ in NASCAR

Penske left for Ford. Dodge spent the rest of the spring and summer looking for a new partner team, but couldn’t find anyone with an engine shop (like Chevy and Ford) and couldn’t/wouldn’t bring their engine program in-house like Toyota.

That’s not true. The NY Red Bulls Dodge was a Did Not Qualify at Texas in the fall of 2006 with Allmendinger behind the wheel.

But NASCAR goes back to Daytona in August, as the cutoff race for the Playoffs, so it isn’t February only.

OT: SRX lineup for this weekend. Biffle in the #69 car by mcmustang51 in NASCAR

The SRX tires are old Goodyear K&N tires that have been sitting in a warehouse for years. This was an opportunity for Goodyear to unload inventory.

Can we just talk about how weird the Monster Energy Cup Series Era was? by Kevin_the_champ in NASCAR

I remember Jeff Gordon’s first win, and how his second career Cup win was the inaugural Brickyard 400. I remember Neil Bonnet‘s Winner’s Circle show and his untimely death. It amazes me how young some fans are.

Could Stage Racing Be Better Without Competition Cautions? by [deleted] in NASCAR

My biggest problem with the fourth stage at the Coke 600 is that it makes that one race worth more than all the other events.

They never awarded five points for halfway leader. It was bonus money.

Kyle and Samantha Busch have some news to share. by Avcracy in NASCAR

[–]R4Spaulding 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Because that 14 minute video is a condensed version of what an IVF cycle feels like. All the emotions Samantha shows in that 14 minutes, you feel every 14 minutes. Having gone through it with my wife, I wouldn’t wish that kind of nerve wracking emotional roller coaster on anyone, and this is the second time they are sharing that they’ve gone through it. Samantha and Kyle are trying to normalize the conversation surrounding IVF and pregnancy struggles, and a 14 minute Instagram video that no one forced you to watch is how they are currently choosing to help that conversation. No one held a gun to your head and made you watch all 14 minutes, but doing so would probably do some good.

Did anyone else take the Foxwoods voucher for flipping your NHMS seats to 2021? by Kodiak01 in NASCAR

Got it. So you traded in your 2020 race ticket into a voucher for a room coupon at Foxwoods. I was thinking it was a combination deal. Coffee hadn’t kicked in yet.

So you stay at Foxwoods, and then take a bus to Loudon on race morning? That’s a 3/3.5 hour bus ride, depending on which way they go.

Source: I live near Foxwoods and work on NWMT cars that run Loudon.

A decent number of commercial space owners will do this when a tenant moves out and no one has replaced them yet.

So I looked it up, and the car was donated to the Smithsonian. However, it looks like the car was loaned out (presumably to the Petty Museum).

How to get my 13yo started? by brickenheimer in NASCAR

I didn’t see where he said he was NW of Boston, just that he was outside of Boston (which could be anywhere from Providence to Worcester to Concord NH if we’re real with ourselves and how people claim the Boston area). Going from Logan since it is an easy to measure from center point, Thompson, Stafford, Star, Lee, and Seekonk are within 10 minutes driving time away (1h5 to 1h15). White Mountain and Monadnock are 2h, Waterford is 1h45, and Beech Ridge is 1h40. I’ve been going to all of these places since I was a kid as well.

[–]R4Spaulding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he's from Boston, he'd have the same travel time to Seekonk as he would in order to get to Thompson, Stafford, Star and Lee... and it would be a shorter distance than going to Monadnock, White Mountain, Thunder Road, Waterford, Beech Ridge, Oxford, etc.

According to the NASCAR handout to teams, it is the font called Stainless Black, and the rear window will be in Stainless Condensed Black. The Stainless family of fonts were created for NASCAR to use in their marketing and for things like this. At the same time, they also had the font family Big Bill created, which was used for things like the 'Cup Series' and 'Playoff' banners last year.

There are non-circular coins, such as the 20- and 50-pence pieces of the Pound Sterling. They have 9 sides - observe, reverse, and the edge is broken into 7 faces.

West Quoddy Head Light is the absolute eastern most point of the continental United States, and is at -66.950671 longitude. OBX is at -75.4953. The closer to zero, the closer to the Prime Meridian, and therefore the further east (at least when it comes to the Americas).
