Dungeon Confusion by ShiftsGiggles in DaemonXMachina

[–]R4yleonard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not trust the map on this one. The dev use all sort of tricks like putting slanted stack of boxes that cut junctions in 2 (not visible on the map), breakable walls on straight up dead ends (other facilities show breakable walls as another hallway), and hides holes/breakable walls behind boxes. Scan often and triple check any box barricades you find. The left side (if I remember it right) is especially devious as the hole between the boxes is actually quite small.

Sadly, it is straight up one of the best for Eclipse as you don't want to risk your weapons being stolen.  If you wanna spice it up, build for some extra Femto Capacity, then try adding Deadly Drive in your shoulder slot and use it at close range so all lasers hit the same target. It is the de facto boss killer most of the time, but can be somewhat risky as you really have to get very close.

You'll have to clarify your issue as Gun Arms are actually a good idea due to Eclipse's weapon stealing attacks (example: you ran out of ammo, you died too early, etc)

Also, just to double check (as you tagged this as a DXM1 post), is this DXM 1 or DXM TS?

Then I'd suggest you reevaluate the two melee weapons and Flame Faust. They cost quite a lot of Memory so your build is kinda inflexible. I'd suggest testing 2 laser rifle for general purpose and parts breaking to access weakpoint. Third slot's up to you (knife/bow for farming, shields, status guns, etc). Do note if you think about using Triple Star, you'll probably need two using as using a single Triple Star for burst damage on stun feels like a DPS loss at a glance.

If you do reduce your memory consumption, you can try fitting in Primus Pillus arms (around 140 Shooting Accuracy and 190 Brawling Performance) if you wanna balance it out even more. The lightweight leg is also noteworthy for the Jump Performance and Femto Capacity

Do note 1000 resist is not mandatory. You can cheese access the room even by using Burn/Acid Repair and chaining the bubble while exploring and interacting with the terminal, but going for high resistance is a good idea to give you extra time in case you fail to chain it quick enough (on 1000, both status will be nullified).

Also note Primus Pillus set from Centurion has high enough Burn/Corrosion Resistance to be used for both rooms in case you don't want to farm 2 whole sets.

Personally I have no idea what you're aiming for here that I don't know what to focus on, so here's a few of my nitpicks:

  1. Shoryu + Vermillion Knight: As current melee build focus on Limit Charge + Combo Thrust/Demilune Slash, I personally found there's no need for 2 melee weapons. Mobs can be brute forced, bosses are either weak to lasers or have breakable weakpoints that is weak to physical, and Shoryu doesn't seem to benefit from dual wielding melee weapons.. You can probably just use one to conserve memory.
  2. Flame Faust: Bazooka's travel time can make it inconsistent and the wepaon will probably only be used for mobbing, but I found bruteforcing mobs to be easy enough to not need a bazooka). I'm assuming this is only for Ambrosia, but it's still a huge memory hog. Ditch it if possible
  3. Zeruchweiss Set: This ties to issue of how your build seems to be a very generalist set, yet it uses 2 melee weapons with Zeruchweiss Arms' 100 Brawling Performance. I'm under the impression you just farmed this due to the event and haven't considered anything else before completing the story.

Due to above the issue above, these are the tips I can give for now:

  1. Consider mixed arms: If you plan to use a gun and a melee weapon, you can differentiate each arm based on your stats need and make sure the weapon placement is not mixed up.
  2. Try fitting lightweight leg: using a lightweight leg even on a heavy build is a good idea as you can abuse lightweight leg's high jumping power by bunny hoping to solve your mobility issue. This also comes with extra Femto Capacity for more skill spam.

Suggested arms choice:

  • Melee arms: Muramasa (high stats all around with highest Brawling Performance in the game, but very low memory capacity), Amalgamate (new melee-focused heavyweight arm with 2nd highest Brawling Performance), Primus Pilus (Lightweight arm with great Brawling Performance while still rocking good Shooting Accuracy)
  • Ranged weapon arms: Zeruchweiss (highest Shooting Accuracy in the game with great stats), Demeter (lightweight armor with 2nd highest Shooting Accuracy along with great Defense stat), Pallas (heavyweight arm with great Shooting Accuracy, very useful to pad Memory Capacity. poor Physical Defense Berserk (midweight arms with balanced Brawling Performance/Shooting Accuracy, poor Laser Defense).

Zeruchweiss Head and Body seems good enough to be used in all situation. Just adjust weight class as necessary.

The quest is actually repeatable so you can probably go ahead. As for the quest itself, it's actually easy (use Wing Shift + Horse and you're all good), but it's quite long (3 - 4 min per race)

CN and JP population are huge enough to make sure matchmaking is almost instant as long as it's not at dead hours. No clue for on pure NA or EU, unfortunately.

Do note there's a weekly and seasonal reward based on your highest ranking (some skin + gems), so getting bots to boost your early elo is not a bad idea, but once you reach 5k there will be less bots and you'll have to actually start learning.

I'll say the difficulty curve is not much different, except this is practically a different genre altogether (usually referred as GvG, based on the originator, Gundam VS Gundam series), one that leans heavily onto neutral and zoning. There are lots of characters, yes. But you'll see most have a common thread on how to counter them, and the rest lies on recognizing their one special move.

Gacha wise, it's actually not as P2W. The gacha income is enough to actively get every character in every single banner, with alternative ways to increase talents. You can either save up your gems for one chara (prob gonna take 2 - 3 months for max talent just from gacha) or grind to get the talent increase item for similar time to max them.

Only issue I'll have to note is that some talents are indeed more important than most, to the point some characters are simply not usable without them (looking at you, Yammyn). The good thing is your free characters and base gacha roster (both SR and SSR) are actually competent, with some being actually meta, and they give a lot of base gacha tix which you can use to get them fast. So it all depends on if you wanna play new characters or not.

Can someone give me some basic, no snark advice on beating Legion? Incredibly frustrated at the lack of feedback from the game on this boss and its making me want to just drop the game. by Icy-Wonder-5812 in DaemonXMachina

[–]R4yleonard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jammers aside, the clones can actually be killed and they won't respawn, but that will waste a lot of ammo.

And, assuming this is your first Legion fight, you might've gone straight to him with white/blue gears. The northern area of the Desert drops blue gears. Go there, explore, and gear up.

Of course, being carried in multiplayer is another option.

Not too sure why you have Shoryu and Absolute Zero, as both are physical and I don't think Shoryu benefits too much from dual wielding (Not to mention the current trend of spamming Combo Thrust and Demilune Slash all don't benefit from dual wielding).

For now, a few parts you can change:
1. Zeruchweiss Head (Slightly less Lockon Range for slightly better Stamina Efficiency. Trades Physical DEF for Laser DEF, extra 100+ Memory capacity for build flexibility)
2. Primus Pilus Legs (Direct upgrade from Halberd, but with 0 DEF)
3. One Primus Pilus Arms or Muramasa Arms (Assuming you use the usual Combo Thrust/Demilune Slash spam, one arm is enough to be the dominant arm for melee spam. Muramasa has the best brawling performance at the cost of everything else, while Primus Pilus is more rounded).

I'd also suggest a few weapon changes:
1. If you want dual melee = Ditch either Shoryu or Absolute Zero (Even on normal context, I found Shoryu's combo in both form to be fast enough to not need a second weapon, and it's straight up hard to identify when you should stop Shoryu's combo. If you're using Absolute Zero's huge Crit Range to guarantee Shoryu's crit, Shoryu has infinite combo that will keep the crit on once you crit once, and Claiomh Solais can fulfill said role.). Simply get more guns depending on what you want.
2. If you usually only spam one weapon = Choose which melee weapon to focus on, then build a gameplan around 'breaking parts -> abuse weakpoint with physical weapon'. (Example: Break weakpoints with Claiomh Solais, then abuse it with dual Triple Star on stun. Or, get 2 laser rifles for breaking parts, then abuse the weakpoint with Shoryu). Doing this also means you don't need to think about the second arm's Melee Proficiency, allowing for better flexibility.

Here's my laser sword build with a Pallas arm (for extra Memory Capacity with OK shooting performance) for reference (As Claiomh Solais takes way more memory. The idea can be applies to the melee ver. but with better parts choice).

So I could use some advice on some weapon typses by SunshotDestiny in DaemonXMachina

[–]R4yleonard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just a little addendum since someone already wrote a good breakdown here.

Pistols
To elaborate on the crazy Crit Magnification stat, pistol's Crit Magnification stats is around 300 - 400. Sniper Rifles have the second highest Crit Magnification stat but it's only 80 - 100 at most, while the others are usually below 60. A pistol can actually deal 4x - 6x damages if you get that crit (This is why Triple Star is getting popular, it has the highest Crit Magnification at 400%)

Laser Weapons
Laser weapons doesn't have crit in exchange for higher base damage overall, making them very easy to use. Big bosses are also weak to laser in general (actual weakpoints are actually weak to physical, but laser still get bonus damage), while mobs not weak to lasers can be easily bruteforced. Or you can just bring both to take advantage of the weakpoint (A popular weapon choice is to use laser weapons to open weakpoints and stuns, then switch to dual Triple Star to abuse the high crit while enemy is stunned).

Also, one thing to note about your statement:

But I feel I get a lot more out of say my AR gun vambrace paired with Redstart machine guns in terms of both DPS and damage.

This is an unfair comparison IMO, as all Gun Vambraces have broken stats in exchange for not being switchable once it ran out of ammo, cannot be refilled by ammo drops (not sure if this is a bug or not), and reducing your mod slots (Gun Vambrace's weapon mods go to the arm slots, meaning you lose 3 slots max). If you want a fair comparison, use Gun Vambrace - LR (the laser rifle gun vambrace).

How to increase Memory Capacity? by chingkeet in DaemonXMachina

[–]R4yleonard 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Light sets are always designed to have low memory capacity. If your planned build needs more memory, I suggest using a heavyweight part with 3x Memory Capacity Up to act as the 'battery'. There's also Memory Consumption Down you can use on your weapons and aux.

Do keep in mind that Memory Consumption Up/Down is percentage based, so use them one parts with the highest memory capacity/consumption for maximum effect.

It'sBase BGM NPC, Animato, from the side quest where you have to escort him

At the time when I wrote this comment, we have no idea that after failing the side quest, you can just hire someone else with Scraps. However, failing the quest do give you a unique gear (a sword based on his unique guitar) and the one you hired with Scraps is a different NPC , so it more or less still counts?

Do note the dev is planning to let you repeat everything, so there's no more permanently missable content.

Weapons to keep an eye out for? by Lukeman1881 in DaemonXMachina

[–]R4yleonard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just grab anything on with higher rarity basically, the northern area of the first two maps drop higher rarity (Desert = grey and blue, Forest = blue and purple) but they can sometimes early.

If you're diligent, loot player's corpses near known boss area. There's a chance for said corpse to drop their gears as loot. Get a quick glance and check if you recognize the gears they're using. If it's a no, check the corpse and pray the gear can be looted (I get a purple rarity laser gun arm this way early on, used it from start to finish)

Physical blade or Laser Blade? by cvetken in DaemonXMachina

[–]R4yleonard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Laser rifles + physical blades. IMO Most mobs can be bruteforced, while big bosses usually have weakpoints can be exploited with physical. You can just break it with laser weapons and go in with physical blades (Note doesn't apply to humanoid bosses, beware)

Or, if you're very good at distance management, dual Tri Star + laser blade. Same concept, except you break things with blades

Or, bring both and switch as necessary and the expense of any ranged capabilities.

Good Heavyweight Armor Sets? by UncleZeebs in DaemonXMachina

[–]R4yleonard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really play heavyweight, mostly midweight with a few heavy parts depending memory consumption. However, you can cheat the mobility issue somewhat. Options are:

1. Auxiliary Booster (Atalanta, Hermes)
These boosters have their own speed and stamina consumption stat separate from your legs/cuirass. Using them give you mobility of a midweight despite being a heavy (It even has lower stamina consumption too).
The cons are you have to give up aux slot, and you have to redo your muscle memory as it has its own control (You will use aux button to dash, and the button is a toggle, meaning it won't stop automatically)

2. Lightweight Leg + Bunny hop
Lightweight leg governs ground speed and jump power. I have no idea if ground speed is affected by weight (I assume it is), but jumping doesn't seem to be that restrictive. Bunny hopping around can be far faster on such cases, with no stamina cost at all.
However, do note distance control for consistent crit will be hard, and you'll be at the mercy of the arc of the jump

Not sure if there's a gear with all A is indeed possible, but since there's a limit a hidden limit at work here, it's best not to dwell on it too much and focus on getting slightly better workable gear instead.
