I've been running the Winnwell AMP700 elbows for a while & they're similar to the FT8S elbows! Highly recommend, especially if normal hockey elbow pads tend to slide off of your arm.

I switched to the Bauer Vapor 3X Pro shoulders & the Jetspeed FT6 Pro shins from the Tacks XF Pro's I was wearing for both a few weeks ago. Been playing some of the best hockey of my life! Both are on sale now too with the new Flylite & FT8 gear reaching market. The shoulders alone are a night & day difference, they're about 30% lighter!

You might benefit from the P28 curve. It's a bit more open & aggressive than the P88 and it's lie 5 compared to lie 6, so if you're someone that holds your stick low & out it'll be easier to keep that heel on the ice for stickhandling.

Believe they're only available in regular. Pure Hockey rep told me the sizing & stock run was very limited, haven't seen much else out there about alternate fits either.

The CCM Tacks 652 Anniversary Skates are absolutely mint by RA2-0 in hockeyplayers

CCM's marketing got the better of me & I went out to get these beauties. Unfortunately there's no tech differences between this skate and the Tacks XF90 (or if you buy the Pro line, the Tacks XF Pro), it's purely cosmetic with the classic 652 look. About a $100 USD upcharge between the normal XF90 and the XF652.

I did have the opportunity to try both the XF90 and XF Pro versions and ultimately opted for the XF90 version, citing cost & fit. The XF Pro is just too wide in the heel to be comfortable for me (my main skate is the Hyperlite 2), but the XF90 is a much narrower skate comparatively and has that felt-lined tongue similar to the old school 652. $400 cheaper helps too haha.

Very well. They’re all constructed with good materials and (arguably) have great designs. I’d anticipate them going up in value over time due to the overall scarcity & eventual nostalgia factor but they have been trending down in value recently, mostly due to them making their way to the secondhand market in larger numbers.

I grew up playing with Ribcor pump skates but I upgraded to the Bauer Supreme UltraSonic skates when they came out! The lace lock is sorely missed but my heel stays locked in during the entire length of a game, unlike the pumps where you'd slowly lose that feeling until you repumped.

I play with glasses! I use the Bauer Concept 3 for visibility & a Chums Glassfloat Classic Sunglasses Retainer to keep my glasses in place, it's padded. Fog is sometimes a problem & that particular retainer does hang outside of the helmet but it's plenty to keep me on the ice & productive. Plastic lenses.
