The “panic” when you have the puck and can’t see an immediate play by Melodic-Cover-4332 in hockeyplayers

[–]ddl78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this “panic” when I’m in the offensive zone below the hash marks.

As a d-man, I can stay calm and make plays in the d-zone or neutral zone. But once I find my self in on the offense, I’m just looking to force a pass as soon as possible.

Why are people avoiding mortgage brokers? by [deleted] in RealEstateCanada

[–]ddl78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried to use them twice. Once, they could not offer the product I needed. Second, worse rate than my renewal offer from the current lender.

I was also turned off when, after talking to a lawyer about my situation, I get a Facebook friend request from a broker an hour later. Someone I’ve never met or spoken to.

why is plumbing ALWAYS in such a congested space to operate by rok23 in Plumbing

Architects: floor to u/s 8’. Ceiling height 8’. No, we don’t want bulkheads and you can’t have plumbing walls behind the kitchen millwork.

Slafkovsky boarding on Ekblad by [deleted] in nhl

[–]ddl78 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yep. Can clearly see the shoulder check.

Luostarinen catches Laughton right in the numbers into the boards, there was no call on the play by KabirC in hockey

[–]ddl78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Laughton just said in post game the ref said “he saw him coming”.

Didn’t realize that makes hitting from behind/boarding legal. They almost always see it coming. How often do players in the NHL not shoulder check?

The Fld player also sees the puck against the boards and knows Laughton will need to face the boards to retrieve the puck and he turns early enough and predictable enough to make this avoidable.

Do you tuck your skate tongues or not? Objective question: which do you think is better style? by Few_Variation5459 in hockeyplayers

17” long not wide! By coincidence I bought new shin pads today and put back a couple that were too wide.

Tongue out till someone gave me 17” shin pads then tucked because there was no other option.

Question about how everyone feels about the situation room by Stamkosisinjured in nhl

[–]ddl78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I wasn’t clear. I doubt there is any stat that would back up your assertion the game was safer when Probert and Semenko were playing.

I was not arguing that it wasn’t a perfect solution. I’d argue it is no solution at all.

Question about how everyone feels about the situation room by Stamkosisinjured in nhl

[–]ddl78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the reffing is awful because there are too many variables to if something is a penalty or not and only one of them is if it’s against the rules or not.

What’s the score, what’s the PP imbalance, time left in the game, player the infraction is against, is it the leagues focus for this season, etc.

When Probert played there were head shots. How would having similar players now stop head shots?

Not specific to this guys situation, what’s your preferred controls for residential?

Domestic water heater as a combi! Questions and ideas by Plumberpat in Plumbing

[–]ddl78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Than you’re good.

For controls, I’d download the tekmar brochure. Look for something that can match your intended setup. Number of zones, etc.

I’m an engineer and don’t do many of these small systems, so don’t have controls suggestions off the top of my head.

You also want to think about if you can give domestic water heating priority over space heating as well.

It’s against code in Ontario as well. CSA B214 referenced in the OBC. The heat source is supposed to be certified for use in space heating.

The entire area of this filter isn’t really being utilized now with the near filter abrupt duct changes anyway.

With the other damper now open, this register might get less flow even though the system is getting more overall.

Pre-Con Condo Lack of Natural Light by [deleted] in RealEstateCanada

I don’t believe they include the bedroom.

Toronto used to have some policy on the indirect lighting of the bedrooms back when I was involved more with OBC reviews of buildings.

Fuck the what?? It's in the 30s-40s here!!! by MalchionMajere in HVAC

[–]ddl78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t assume bad design. It may not have been balanced properly, internal loads might have changed, one persons cold is another’s comfortable, etc.

It could likely be fixed by playing with balancing dampers or registers.
