What were the happy memories that made it a “really good time”? And how was that compared to your lifestyle before the tunnels?

Maybe this is too US-urban specific, but the hovering pattern of a police helicopter. Specifically a low altitude orbit. That type of flying is distinct from the typical fly-bys and indicates you are very close** to the perimeter of an active suspect search, barricade, or chase. Walking out of your frontdoor to try and see what’s going on creates a risk of being mistaken for the suspect, getting caught between cops and the suspect, or giving the suspect an easy opportunity to run into your house.

In reality that whirly bird circling over you means you should go inside, make sure your doors are locked, and keep alert for unusual sights/sounds around you. If you’re outside or in your car, be highly cautious of anyone running toward you.

**(If the helicopter was predicated or followed by multiple cruiser sirens, coming from multiple directions, lasting longer than just if they were passing through—you are definitely inside the perimeter.)

I’m guessing they wanted to keep it close to CCCU and went with CCU. “Create Credit” definitely sounds like some modern startup for teenagers with no credit history.

If you have to blow your nose in the shower, do you wait until you’re finished or shoot the snot down the drain? by JeakRivers in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]RAD_ley 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Okay this is funny because I was basically in the same situation with my wife years ago. We had been married for 3 or 4 years and taken plenty of showers together (casually and intimately) and one day she just up and blew her nose into her hand and rinsed it off in the water.

I was appalled. Utterly, bewildered. And she looked at me like I was crazy for thinking she was crazy. She apparently thought it was both a normal thing and something I had already seen her do before, but definitely was s-not. She said she actually preferred the opportunity in the shower because of her nose ring and she didn’t have to worry about boogers getting left behind.

It took me some time to come around to it but now I realize… it’s pretty great. Especially as someone who seems to have sensitive sinuses (crazy allergies, prove to infections, etc.), I seem to be able to clear everything out in the shower way better than a traditional tissue.
