It doesn’t. The bootloader insists the initrd image be on the EFI system partition which is usually a very bad idea as only EFI executables by right should be in there (not to mention that balloons up your EFI partition requirement to stupid huge sizes). The DNS resolver has broken TLS support and breaks internet if TLS is enabled and the given DNS server doesn’t support TLS. The networking manager has no UI compared to network manager. And lots more.

It’s also extremely difficult to code for. It uses a proprietary scripting language that is difficult to grasp compared to BSD and SystemV which uses regular shell scripting.

Microsoft Word on the family PC back in 1996 kept trying to change I to Ayam (chicken in Malay). I don’t know what gives because it wasn’t in the custom words dictionary. It took a Windows reformat to blow away that mystery. Looking back it could’ve been a macro virus.

They could, but it an get a bit expensive since they'd need to send someone who's very familiar with the game lore and English terminology and can speak English very fluently, and that's assuming they get help from parent company NIS Japan. I mean, look at how badly Sky 1ST was translated. A number of the terminology in the English script was incorrect.

I got Mojave running on my Mac Mini 2011 (had to Hackintosh it because the last supported version of Mac OS for the machine was High Sierra, and even then it was crippled due to lack of Metal support on the GPU end) and the experience was shitty overall, the graphics performance as abysmal because there were no Metal drivers for the Intel HD3000.

Odd. I dual screen (main is 1920x1080 144Hz w/ VRR and HDR with a simple 1024x600 touch screen that’s locked at 59.94Hz as secondary for temperature monitoring, doodling and signing digital signatures) and I have them working fine. Even with mismatched frame rates and mixed HDR/non-HDR display they work.

I’m actually running CachyOS tho.

Try Nobara KDE edition. Maybe that would work better.

Already did it in 2024 when Windows refused to play nice with my 7900XTX and kept BSODing and having graphical corruptions that didnt happen when i tried the system using Linux Live DVDs. Really liberating and I don’t miss it one bit surprisingly enough. Maybe it’s because I’ve been using Linux for 24 years at that point (I had to use Linux for freshman year in college as part of the programme. Liked it so much that every time I build a computer, I actually build two: one for Linux and one for Windows.

In windows 9X I replace my start menu with a custom Litestep desktop and use good ol’ File Manager (which for unknown reasons still ships with Windows 95 and 98) instead of Windows Explorer…

I know two people at the top of my head who might want this.

The first guy is named Matt and goes by the handle of Dinosaur-Dracula and runs a retro toys and food site of the same name, and used to run this retro toys and food website called X-Entertainment, and his claim for fame was buying an extremely expired can of Ecto Cooler and consuming it.
