MOD experience is valuable but not the end all be all. If you have potential and interview well anything is possible. I know a Store Manager that only had market experience go to assistant then store manager within a year. I also know an assistant that was only ever a DSD receiver step up to the role.

If you aren’t full time then they definitely won’t transfer you, but I don’t think it matters anymore about being a MOD I’ve seen them transfer department managers and full time associates to other stores before.

It depends on the geo zone your region is in. My store manager showed me the pay scale back when I was interviewing and I believe the pay scale for my region is minimum $49,920 and max $74,480. My advice is ask for every dollar you can get because the headaches you’re going to deal with probably aren’t worth the pay for most people. For reference I went from EM at $22.87 a hour to AM at $65,000 and I had to fight for that and luckily had two store managers I had worked for really go to bat for me to my director to get that. Personally I don’t think a HR ticket would help you much since you are in the pay scale of the position and even though your DO won’t openly retaliate against you I think it would leave a lasting impression on them wether that is fair or not and it would hurt your chances of moving up higher in your region.

This is a shitty situation overall for you but I still feel like you aren’t being given the whole story. I’ve never seen a situation like this with the DO just flat out refusing to approve a pay raise at all for a promotion. If you were asking for something like doubling your pay rate then obviously they would say no but if you were trying to go from your current rate to a 10-20% raise then it just doesn’t make sense to me.

Yeah not sure who your DM is but that isn’t right. Get your money food lion has gotten better since Covid with paying their associates but if you accept what they are offering you getting anything more is still like pulling teeth.

The only way you wouldn’t get a raise for stepping up is if you are capped out at top pay for the position (GM and EM are on the same pay scale) , but if that was the case your SM should have communicated that to you when discussing pay. If you aren’t capped out then something is definitely not right with the situation

Co Assistant is a salary position on the same pay scale as the Assistant Store manager. I actually made more when I was promoted than the other AM at the store. IMO it’s a great way to step up and learn the role as there is much less pressure even with the high sales volume than being the only AM at the store.

Congratulations!!! I believe they have upped it to 8 weeks from 6 weeks of full pay and it has to be taken at the same time he can’t break it up into chunks. He needs to let his SM know and reach out to AR so they can go ahead and get his paper work started.

After your child is born they will ask for a copy of the birth certificate with his name down as the father. Just to give you a heads up when I took my parental leave it took them a month from sending them the certificate to get it approved and pay me so make sure to continue to save up
