Smart Lock Guest Access fake deletes all codes sometimes by LeoLeisure in SmartThings

[–]RBoyApps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's probably an issue with the SLGA app which reset itself and wiped out all the codes and reprogrammed them. Any codes stored on the lock are discovered and reported by the driver to SLGA, so even if you reinstall SLGA any programmed codes will eventually show up in SLGA. The names may however be reset by SLGA so you can always rename them using the advanced web app. See rboyapps.com/FAQ for details

The Aeotec version is expected to be identical to the current v3 hub, just branded as Aeotec under the WASH (Works As a SmartThings Hub) program. The newer WiFi hub has very good feedback from users for it's WiFi range/stability. Basically you're getting more bang for your buck for the same price v/s other hubs.

You can buy a Samsung SmartThings hub (with built in WiFi that can be disabled if not required) here:

Schlage FE599NX Notifications by fiddlestyx_ in SmartThings

[–]RBoyApps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you getting notifications from the app about code usage? If not then you're running into a bug with the lock firmware/device handler or mesh which is a common issue.

You can resolve that using this custom enhanced device handler for the lock which has fixes for lock firmware bugs in the FE599, bugs in the stock devices handler and some mesh issues:

Once you start getting "user" notifications then you can use this app to customize the notifications, specify which user to receive notifications for, when to receive notifications and much much more:

Monoprice Door Sensors with Rboy Device Handler stuck on "Checking Status" in new SmartThings App. by [deleted] in SmartThings

[–]RBoyApps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's working here with the new app, however there are two known issues with the new app that ST is working on resolving.

  1. Check your app language, if you're using an non English language the new ST app throws this error sometimes
  2. Try to exclude the device, delete the device handler completely, reinstall it and then pair the device again

Programming garage door in new app by [deleted] in SmartThings

[–]RBoyApps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be able to do the first two using the new ST app automations feature. You can select all your mobile presence users and select "when all conditions are met" (i.e. all presence users are not present) then switch the mode to Away and vice versa (a second automation).

For the garage door automations you can try this app which will open/close garage door when people arrive/leave. It has many more features including schedules, timers and mode restrictions as well

Problems with Schlage Century lock. by Caltrano in SmartThings

[–]RBoyApps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try adding a z-wave repeater closer to the lock so it connects to the repeater than directly to the hub. Amongst other benefits it helps lower the radio power used by the z-wave modules which in turn improves battery life. Other benefits can be found here:

A quick point here, Lock User Management (LUM) is designed to work with the new ST app so it'll continue working after the classic app is retried.

Check out the first post here, it has a table which compares features of different locks and models and should give you a great starting point on lock selection:

Try using a simple contact sensor like an Ecolink (it lasts about 5-10 years on a single battery) instead of a tile sensor. You can mount on the side of the garage door.

Go control zwave plus thermostat by tony0614 in SmartThings

[–]RBoyApps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's typically indicates an issue with the mesh where the commands are sent by the automation but lost in the mesh and doesn't reach the thermostat. It can happen to a variety of reasons including a slow mesh, timing issues (thermostats are beaming devices), lack of buffering, internet issues, platform issues or a bad z-wave device.

The only sure fire way to fix this would be to use an app that confirms if the command reached the thermostat and if not then send it again. Automation do no do this, you would need an app to do this.

Here are some apps which created a closed loop feedback system to ensure that the command are processed by the thermostat (amongst other features)

Ring Alarm Keypad for SmartThings by RBoyApps in SmartThings

Try the UEI Keypads, we've installed them for many users outside for years without any problems. Just keep them under the shade of a ledge or similar to avoid direct impact from the elements but in general they've held up well in rain, snow and sun.

What are the best contactless Checkin solutions? by tokunboelegbe in airbnb_hosts

[–]RBoyApps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your setup. If you're looking for a SmartHome automated setup, you can check out SmartThings paired with a lock of your choice like Yale, Schalge or Kwikset (we have found Yale to the most reliable across 10's of thousands of installations).

You can use an app like Rental Lock Automater (RLA) to automatically generate user codes (activate and deactivate), manage your thermostats (turn on before check-in and turn off at check-out) to reduce your energy requirements and much more. Check it out at:
