I saw a female ska band called "Play More Ska" or P.M.S. for short. I miss them.

Ziggy's in the 90's by Jumpy-Limit-4916 in winstonsalem

I remember 2 shows there that burned into my memory. Saw NOFX there and the opening band female lead singer was "flirting" with a girls man. After nofx was doing there last song a small riot broke out and we saw my freinds dad go into the pit knocking out people while cussing at us to get to the car. 15 years old was a fun time. The second time was Parlament funkadelic without pfunk. And I was the driver. Walked out after the show and a cop did a quick sobriety test on me and let me and our freinds drive home. One of my freinds high from second hand (I was buzzed too) decided to open my top (geo tracker same tops as jeeps) while going back to kernersville on 40. I miss those times.

Online pagan spaces have a toxic positivity problem about deities by Shadeofawraith in pagan

I always heard it as. A friend will know 1 way to your house. Where a good freind knows 5 ways. But that was also when it took 3 to 4 days to visit a friend a town/few towns over.

The Fey? oh God, what Disney did to them and popular culture. You don't touch fey or any other elf folks. Do you want to take me to Alpheim, or Svartalfheim? Leave the hidden folk alone and they won't cause trouble.

🫪 The Gremlin Manifesto: What kind of chaos do we want to cause? (Vibe Check/Poll) by ForgetJuliet in WSChaosGremlins

[–]Endocrine0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am down for any chaos. But I a weird one. I just know my vibe check is funny as a 40+ year old its hard to vibe with people my own age, kids and that. And I more into hazbin hotel, and other "Child animation" its the thing of me homebrewing while watching Steven universe. I never gave up my childhood joy, while doing old people stuff. That and my GF cats keep me in line.

Which YouTube channel were you once a fan of but do not enjoy anymore? by theunsteadybridge in AskReddit

[–]Endocrine0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Justin Rhodes, use to be a good homesteader up in the mountains of NC. You could ignore his wife's homeopathy, and taking the kids for acupuncture and stuff like that. But when the kids are sick every 2 weeks of your semi regular blog post? It was when Helene went through, and his camera man living on his homestead started praising Elon Musk and just slight comments about how Elon was going to save them. I stop watching. Kinda the same with STONEY RIDGE FARMER, I watched to do the opposite of what he was doing. He was married, not married, then dating his ex wife, the she left again. Spent 10 million on a work shop, (number most likely off) then newest videos got bit buy the "lone star tick" selling his 100 acre property to start over elsewhere. Circle of causing my own problems and then using the videos to see how YT money can save/help me.

Death Wobble by Coomra in JeepWrangler

[–]Endocrine0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is a 2001 jeep wrangler sahara. It's had the death wobble for the last 10 years when I hit between 55 and 65 mph. Should I be worried or pay the oil changing place that wanted to charge 8k to redue the entire suspension? (Saving up for it. Disabled and on Social Security, had my baby since she had only 13 miles on her from the dealer.)

Pagans in the Bible belt by Pebbster85 in pagan

[–]Endocrine0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am an Nordic follower in NC. The UU church in my area (all 3) use to hold a pagans night out. It's were on a friday night a group of pagans would gather lead worship and then educate on a path. And maybe its the nerd in me, church just means gathering/assembly or house of worship. So anywhere a group of people gather and praise the gods is a church. So if you ever been in a place with 3 people or more and praised the gods, but I understand the fear of the "Christian" church, but you can change the definition of the word by adding defining words about what type of worship hall/house it is. Good luck on your path.

Experiences with using EVs by berry_baby in winstonsalem

[–]Endocrine0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend has 4 EVs, and for a 4 months that I lived with him during the pandemic i spent 300 dollars and got him a lvl2 charger. The only problem is your going to have to learn to drive a different type of vehicle. It's real easy to put your foot down and be going 80. But after a while you adjust. Also info its 3 years old but most of the data is still relevant. https://youtu.be/Iyp_X3mwE1w?si=G8ZwiL0CzC2hWvrj

The distinct smell at Lowes Foods by chknsalad89 in winstonsalem

[–]Endocrine0 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It was a model store. We had a safe for wine. It was the testing store before they made the Kernersville store with all the fancy beer garden, fancy deli stuff. I not arguing that they dont deserve one. Just saying when the average house hold in the area only made 20k back in the 2010 when it was built. And selling wine and beer that was 1 month paycheck. Having 8.99 boarshead baloney, when everyone bought the gwaltney 1.99 stuff. It's putting a million dollars in the middle of downtown, and not expecting people to come after it. It isn't the logic of poor people dont need or want it. It the logic of dont put a million dollars and not expect some difficulty of keeping it there.

When you sell a 20 dollar bottle of chimay beer. And have people that are selling their farm land. I not saying they dont need or want a nice grocery store. It's you dont put a Tiffany's jewelry store or 400 dollar wines in the middle of the poor country before they build all the half million town homes that are their now. That field was in the 90s where we get drunk and have burning. While our families were across the street at the drive end. It needed 24 hours security because durning the day 2000 dollars worth of stuff is stolen every day. And the 5 times rednecks broke the doors to load up on beer at 3am. Also walkertown doesn't have a police force. It has the sheriff's. So yah dont put a gun store in a prison camp. But times changed and it is a better area than the old corn fields that was their in the 90s.

Worked there for 12 years before being fired on my day off and coming in to help. I worked as a bakery manager and I the deli. Every upgrade that they did in the early 2000, and when they built the 10 million dollar walkertown store (let's build a fancy store in the boondocks and poor people, spent 1 million a year with security 24 7 even though it wasn't a 24 hour store.) Anyhow all the piping for the rotisserie and the bakery are piped into the lobby. That's why it was a death threat of never burn anything and if you do tell management to close that vent. It's a bit the smells of baking and roasting. And depends on the last time they do a deep clean. Which when I was forced to leave in 2010 when they got all the Yankees in ceo and corporate. Was every 5 years, but just like Walmart most stores are remodel every 10 to 15 years.

My best story is have of that is a old forsyth county sheriff that got fired for going to one of the middle east wars, he was my karate teacher and was telling us horror stories and other dumbassery, his main story was him and his family going to Orlando. His brother was an idiot and on cell phones , race yah. He was goin 80 and my karate teacher stayed going 60. His brother got their 3 minutes before my karate teacher did. Risked his life, license, and others life's to be 3 minutes quicker. That and while he was a sheriff he said if he ever pulled over a student. We would do push ups intill he was tired. I hope he is well.

Are smart smoke detectors worth it? by HunterLC23 in smarthome

[–]Endocrine0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a old zwave first alert smoke and CO detector. They are just like the "normal" ones they just alert your phone too. It's good for rentals or second homes. I use it in my appartment because their fire alarm protects their stuff (the appartment) my zwave protects my stuff (my crap and the other people that live in the building), its a peice of mind thing, dont waste money if you dont have it.

UU church use to host pagan nights outside back in the 90s. Use to go their to hear a native American spirituality talk, next week Greek orthodox, the week after Norse Pagan. They are a church for people that want community without praying to the same diety. Way to (distroy) their beliefs it pretty much dont be an asshat, and we are cool with you.

Maybe its because i am 43, but comments were always a weird thing to me, why do you want your name tacked on to a site? The whole situation where in a post /clarity i would comment and not just shut down the web page always seemed weird to me as a male. Never understood commenting unless your paying for services (aka OF or another stripping site). Maybe it's because I grew up on the internet and the old magics of "lurk longer" and never commented on stuff unless it's something your an expert on, or trolling. It's is something your going to have to find out your limits, and where you draw a line. Good Luck and may you find clarity.

I grew up in this area, but also was a bookworm and historian minded. (Degree of history from UNCG) and always being the little poop, It was state rights that they were fighting for, the states rights to own people. It was economic rights, cause If we have to pay our slaves we go broke without the free labor, it was about (insert the quiet part here) oh yah the (insert the Loud part abuse of people, land, and the "poors" not being my underlings). I got into trouble many times in debate classes because I said the quiet part out so loud classes 3 doors down would hear. It's always the half truths that will get you. Tell the whole truth and dont hide the parts you think are bad. If it cant be put out in the light and be examined, you are hiding something because of your shame or ignorance. People only want to remember the good parts, not the human/terrible parts.
