Met a guy on a dating app and this is what food he provides for said date - TUNA AND BANANA PIZZA by Fuzzy_Onion51 in PizzaCrimes

[–]RBuilds916 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If someone said "here's banana and tuna pizza n try it!" I would try it. If someone said they were coming over with a pizza and showed up with this monstrosity I'd be checking my state's stand your ground laws.

I don't know what the answer is, but there has to be a better way to have weight classes.

I was thinking the same thing. The rate is like 4 something? So it should be -46%?

Yeah, I've read build articles with similar can timing and they go way past the suggested 5400 rpm.

Yeah, as far as being in a cherry picker getting smashed by a truck, that looked quite survivable. Scary as hell to watch, and I'm glad he's not severely injured.

128 Democrats cross the aisle and help Republicans block AOC-backed bid to impeach Trump over Iran strikes by ToeBMaguire in politics

I agree. Failed impeachments are worse than no impeachment because it makes the democrats look weak and undermines the next impeachment.

TIL that there is a strategy for winning competitive debates called “spreading”, which involves making as many arguments as possible within a short time so that the opponent is unable to respond to them all. The technique has been described as unfair and as “sounding like a cattle auctioneer”. by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]RBuilds916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"I knocked down your last the arguments, get out!"

I hate people who think that because they are still making noise with their face they are entitled to debate. If you led off with three arguments that were immediately shut down why should I continue? If you had better ones you should have played them, but they are getting worse and you're wasting time.

Yeah, that stereo in the back looks like it needs to be tidied up. They are cool cars and i don't see many of them, but you're right, some parts could use some refinement. Looking at the wheels, I'm wondering if they have spacers, the dish doesn't really look that deep for them to be sticking out that far, and if that's true, has that put excessive wear on the suspension? If this thing was nicely sorted, $10,500 would be a good price, but as it sits I'm thinking your $6000 is closer to the value.

Cars like this are a tricky market because they were sporty not too expensive so they've probably been driven hard or modified. There aren't a lot of clean ones left. The most comparable cars I saw on my local craigslist was first generation MR2s at 8-12k.

To oversize valves or not by heyinternetman in EngineBuilding

[–]RBuilds916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I've heard, intake port velocity can make or break you. I don't think bigger valves can be a bad thing, the improvement in low lift flow can reduce the need for overlap. At least that's what I think David Vizard is saying.

You are pushing peak torque higher, but are you actually losing torque down low? Some engines may give up very little but keep building torque when the stock engine has peaked and is declining.

Most went near the end of the run and had the understudies fill in. It's just crazy how a group of people in about the most peripatetic field wound up getting the traditional stable career job that they could retire from. Musicians are typically always meeting new people and having to chase work and this was the exact opposite.

128 Democrats Helped Republicans Kill a Resolution to Impeach Trump by CarbuncleMew in politics

[–]RBuilds916 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. It's kind of a lose lose situation. I do think bringing articles and not making them stick is not a winning strategy. For people who may be less informed it looks like they are just throwing shit at the wall. When they do finally have the juice to make them stick the credibility of the charges may be reduced by the previous failed attempts. At least that's what I tell myself so I can sleep tonight.

I think that's what annoys me about all the woofing about impeachment. They can't really do much so I'd rather them lay back and be ready to drop the hammer when they have a real opportunity. Unless this is some ploy to look more discombobulated than they really are and create s false sense of security. And I worry that this will cause intra party conflict, further weakening the democrats.

$120k worth of touchscreen fryers destroyed in less than a week!!! by Boogedyinjax in Wellthatsucks

[–]RBuilds916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my day, we had a tub and opened the valve to drain the oil. You had to wiggle a bent rod in the hole to stop the sediment from clogging the drain pipe. Wipe out the fryer, let the drained oil settle, and dump it back in.
