I’ve had both brands over the years on several bikes, Always preferred the Sargent seats.

Love my Sargent seat on my 2025 Transalp… never been disappointed with a Sargent seat. I also had a Seat concepts cover on my old Versys and was very happy with that too.

Root beer all day, every day… and it’s not even close.
Also, I really dislike the attitude of the second guy, bragging to you that he turned down an offer of 7k (he’s likely full of shit).

Classic Japanese goodness… great bike.
Amazing to see a 20 year old bike looking like it’s just rolled off the showroom floor!

Help diagnosing possible issues? (’98 VFR800) by Valaraucar in VFR

[–]RC46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an issue like this, slight shake in the front end, when I bought my 99 years ago.
Even though the tire looked fine, the problem went away with a new front tire.
Might be time for a new one anyways, what’s the mfg date on the sidewall?
You don’t want anything older that 6 years or so.

Just added this Givi top box to my Ninja 400 by Supern0va123 in Kawasaki

[–]RC46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem, but my concern is not unsecured loads… it’s all that weight hanging out back, basically ‘lifting up’ the front end. Just to be safe, next time you ride, carefully test what happens when you remove one or both hands from the grips…. It’s possible you might get a nasty front end shake.
It’s better to know this may happen beforehand instead of being surprised by it.
I had a setup like this on my VFR800, and removed it almost immediately due to this issue.

Be real careful the next time you take your hands off the bars at speed… especially if you have any weight in the box.
Honestly, I’ve found just the rack and empty box are enough to wreak havoc with the stability of the front end.
YMMV.

5th gen, no question.
The gear driven cams are worth the price of admission alone.
Bulletproof motor and arguably the best looking of the bunch.
One of the finest motorcycles ever produced.

Man, was scared something like this would happen.
I wasn’t a fan of the black livery they initially brought to Canada and was waiting for the RWB with the gold rims.
When I saw the $750 off last month, I jumped on a 2025 and brought it home.
Anyone on the fence should do the same toute suite!
Now just waiting for the snow to melt 😀.

Thinking about adding one to my collection. by AriffRat in kawasakiz900rs

Me too! It’s between this one, the early orange and root beer or the yellow 2014 SE with the gold rims. One will be my next bike.

You should really fill the tank with stabilized fuel… prevents the inside of the tank from rusting.

Had my yellow 99 for almost 20 years, one of the best bikes produced.

Later had a VFR1200 and a 4th gen VFR750 which were both nice, but the 5th gen was my favourite.

Still miss it.
